Malden Speedway will host the largest crate late model race in Missouri history. Drivers from all over the Nation will be competing for the $5,000.00 to win 2 day event. Friday, April 18th will be practice and qualifying with Saturday, April 19th being the Main Feature. FASTRAK Midwest Director Tracy Cottrell stated “The Midwest Region is honored to be able to host this National FASTRAK event as well as return to Malden Speedway. Phil Santie and his crew have been great to work with in the past and we are looking forward to a great show!”

Prior to the Main Feature, there will be driver introductions from the track. Following the introductions, drivers will throw tennis balls containing cash to the fans! “Fans are important to FASTRAK and we appreciate their loyalty and dedication. This is one small token of our appreciation.”, stated Co-Director Stacey Cottrell.

Team Dillon, the driver development team of RCR Racing is strongly considering the trip to Malden Speedway. "I like the FASTRAK Series" stated Team Owner Mike Dillon. "FASTRAK runs a professional show and they treat all the drivers the same and that's what we are looking for with our driver development teams. "We are looking strongly at coming to Malden for this event" said Team Manager Shane McDowell. "It's great experience for our teams going to different areas. The dirt is different and having run with FASTRAK before we know things will be run well. Tech is the key to crate engine racing and FASTRAK does a very good job at that".

Darin Walker, #24 from Bowling Green, MO, is the reigning 2007 Midwest Regional Champion and is expected to attend. Other returning drivers from the Midwest Region will include; #28 Dallas Bennett and #22 Darrell Moser both from New Haven, MO; #18R Shawn Rayfield from O’Fallon, MO (also the reigning 2007 Montgomery County Speedway Champ); #16 Ashlee Lancaster from Columbia, MO (the only female driver in the FASTRAK series); and #50 Ed Dixon from Washington, MO. Billy James #17 is coming off the first win for the Midwest Region last weekend at the West Plains Motor Speedway and is expected to return and try to do a repeat performance. #99H Todd Hall is also expected to attend.
