Todd Hall continued his control of the Late Model division at the Malden Speedway Friday night. Hall picked up his second win in a row and fourth of the year, leading from green to checkered. Hall was not without challenge though, as Steve Karnes hounded him for the first 15 laps. Karnes looked both high and low for a path around Hall as they raced bumper to bumper.
The final five laps, Hall built a modest cushion as the race wound down.
Jeff Walston had a real battle for third, holding off Kevin Cole and Scott Tracer. Hall and Karnes won the heat races.

In the season standings, Hall extends his lead to 79 over Karnes after 10 events.

Jared Wagster dominated an excellent field of Open Wheel Modifieds to take his second win of the year. In a race that went Green-White-Checkered once it got an official start, Wagster pulled away from the beginning. He had built a three second lead by mid race, but the pair of Robert Powers and Robby Arnold closed the gap in lapped traffic. Wagster pulled away again when the track opened back up to win by four seconds. The Powers-Arnold battle went to the final lap with Powers holding off a late charge. Chris Hall picked up his first top five finish with fourth, followed by point's leader Ronnie Vernon. Heat race winners were Wagster, Hall, and Claudie Cook.

Vernon holds a 40-point lead over Wagster, who just moved ahead of Cook by one point with his win.

Claudie Cook used a slick move to advance from third to first and held on the rest of the way for his third Hobby Stock win of the year. Pole sitter Doug Moore opened the race in the lead with Glenn Griffin and Cook in hot pursuit. On the third lap, Cook raced high out of turn four and outran both Griffin and Moore down the front straight to grab the lead. Griffin hung tough and was on Cook's bumper the rest of the way, but never found a way around the leader. Moore held on for third. Scott Tracer and Jason Pennington rounded out the top five. Heat winners were Moore and Cook.

In the closest points race at the track, Tim Winchester holds a slim four-point lead over Doug Moore, with Cook just five back.

In one of the most exciting races of the year, Paul Reeder picked up his third Street Stock victory. The race opened with Greg Casey battling Aaron Darby and Johnny Houart for the lead. The trio raced in tandem, several times going three wide down the straights. Following a lap 8 caution, Reeder joined the group, and what was three wide racing became four wide.
The lead switched hands several times with Reeder taking command on lap 10 as Casey slid high in turn two, falling back to fourth. Reeder pulled away the final two laps as Darby edged Houart in a very close race for second.
Casey held on for fourth and Jason Palmer picked up his first top five finish of the year. Heat winners were Casey, Pat Thompson, and Houart.

Aaron Darby's nine top five finishes in 11 starts gives him a commanding 135 points lead over Paul Reeder. Mike Elliot is third.

Tracy Smith took over the lead on the 10th lap and held on for the feature win in the E-Mods. Jon Gray, who ran away with the heat race opened in the lead and soon was being hounded by Tim Prine. After winning that battle early in the race, Gray was joined by Smith. Smith waited patiently and made his move with two to go and picked up the win.
