Jerry Buck led from start to finish to pick up his first Late Model Feature win at the Malden Speedway. Joining Buck in victory lane this week were Ronnie Vernon in the Modified class. Scott Tracer and the 94-T made it three Hobby Stock wins in a row. Kyle Berry picked up his first Street Stock win at Malden; and the team of Kelley and Moore remained perfect in the Cruiser class.

Jerry Buck won an early duel with Todd Hall and led the rest of the way to take the checkered flag in the Late Models. The lead pair were the class of the field as they built a four second lead on the third place car before a mid race caution reset the field. Bryan Maynard of Paducah took third.
Steve Rushin and Bronson Berry rounded out the top five. Buck and Hall won the heat races.

Next Friday the MARS cars return to Malden for their annual show.

The Modified race had trouble getting started, with two first lap cautions causing full restarts. The third time was a charm as the race went the full 20 laps without further caution. Ronnie Vernon checked out on the field and left a mad scramble for the positions behind him. Jason Hughes started on the ninth row and moved though the field to take second on lap 16, following a lap of side by side racing with Larry Hull. Hughes did not have enough time to challenge Vernon for the lead the final three laps. Hull had his best finish of the year in third. Robby Arnold and John Barnett rounded out the top five. Heat winners were Hull, Vernon, Arnold, and Greg King. Jason Hughes won the B-Main.

Only three points separate the top three in the standings with Claudie Cook holding a two point lead on Bart Richardson, and Vernon is three back.

Scott Tracer has begun to dominate the Hobby Stock class with his third straight feature win. Tracer pulled away from the field, building a two second lead before a mid race caution brought him back to the field. Tracer
got a good jump and was never seriously challenged after that. Tracer
missed a great race behind him as the 2nd to 5th spots were very close with back and forth racing. Gene Fowler matched his best finish of the year in second. Tim Winchester took third. Doug Moore battled back to get fourth despite starting at the back of the pack after fixing a lap three flat tire.
Claudie Cook rounded out the top five. Cook and Tracer won the heat races.

Tim Winchester regains the point's lead by two over Claudie Cook. Tracer's three wins have moved him to third, just 11 back, despite spotting the field one race.

In the Street Stock feature, Kyle Berry found an opening down low on the second lap and raced under early pace setter Greg Casey to grab a lead he would not relinquish. Berry pulled away from the field late, building a three second lead by the checkered flag. Aaron Darby took second, followed by Casey, Tony Copeland and Pat Thompson in the top five. Heat winners were Casey and Berry.
