…Former Dirt Track World Champion & Southern All-Stars Series Champ to Pilot Team Green Chevrolets in 2004 Dirt Late Model Efforts

(Woodstock, GA – January 26, 2004) With racing's off-season drawing closer and closer to the first motorsports events of 2004, former champion dirt late model driver Marshall Green is shifting his racing program into high gear and readying for the new season. When the annual SpeedWeeks gets underway in Daytona Beach, Florida Green will ignite his 750 horsepower dirt late model and roar into action at Volusia Speedway Park in two weeks of wild racing competition in Barberville, Florida at the famed half-mile dirt oval just west of Daytona International Speedway on State Highway 40.

Green's start to the season will come under the sanction of the recently formed and announced World of Outlaws Late Model Series, joining many of the nation's most noted short-track speedsters during the season-opening SpeedWeeks racing action on February 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th. Complete event information for the debut appearances of the World of Outlaw Late Model Series is posted at www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com.

The 30 year-old Green, a former Southern All-Stars Series Champion and 1997 winner of the Dirt Track World Championship (DTWC), is no stranger to the fierce competition having traveled the nation during past seasons as one of the rising stars in the sport of American short-track stock car racing. Remaining loyal to the people and sponsors who have enabled his success in past years, Green will compete with backing from team partner Mike Vaughn and longtime sponsors Hoosier Racing Tire, Warrior Race Cars, Hatfield Race Engines and AFCO Racing Products.

"We're ready to come out of the gate rocking and rolling this season," said the always smiling Green from his shop in Woodstock, GA. "I am very excited about all the new positive changes in dirt late model racing. This off-season has been a real silly-season for the racers and fans involved with all the talk of change, but it still boils down to winning races," concludes Green, "That's what we do for our sponsors and it makes the hard work worthwhile."

Green and Vaughn campaigned as a team last season in limited action showing tremendous signs of success and future potential. In just sixteen outings in 2003 Green steered the team to ten top-five runs with a major win coming at the annual "Firecracker 100" at Dixie Speedway in Atlanta. The pair are back together this season with sponsorship, in part, from Vaughn's automotive interest "Mike Vaughn's Auto Exchange", a major force in the pre-owned automotive industry throughout North Georgia. Temples Construction, a leader in new home construction in northwest Georgia and Sutton Homes are also behind the team’s efforts.

In addition to the support garnered from Mike Vaughn's Auto Exchange the team will carry the banner of Green's new company RACE IT. The business, located in Woodstock, GA carries a complete line of racing accessories, parts and components necessary to compete successfully in the dirt racing arena. RACE IT is an authorized dealer for chassis and parts for all major chassis companies within the dirt late model industry.

Green will campaign Chevrolet Monte Carlo's with a new green and white color scheme during the 2004 racing season. The team's engine program will be powered by Hatfield Race Engines of Joplin, MO with chassis from Warrior Race Cars (Knoxville, TN). Product support for the team will come from longtime affiliations at AFCO Racing Products, Custom Craft Racing Headers, Oval Craft Racing Aluminum Design, ISKY Racing Cams, Weld Wheels, Stealth Carburetors, Bert Transmission, Mason Starters, Simpson Race Products, US Brake, ATL Racing Fuel Cells, Racing Optics, Hoosier Racing Tire, Ringers, FL Graphix, Comp Cams, Scoggin Enterprises, Razor Oil Pumps and Bearden Oil Company (Eastman, GA). The loyal support of these industry leading manufacturers allow Green and his team to showcase their racing success and talent across the country.

Green expects to release a complete 2004 schedule for Team Green following the initial events in Florida as the team awaits schedule finalization from the respective series and sanctions involved in the sport.

"We are going hit most of the major events throughout the year with the emphasis on winning races rather than chasing points championships," says Green. "Our schedule and all of the information on the team and our company RACE IT will be available on-line with an announcement of the web site and fan club info coming during the next few weeks."
