Arlington, OH (April 12, 2006)- Matt Miller and DSI Racing will head to Eldora Speedway this Saturday for the Sunoco American Late Model Series event. Matt and the DSI Racing Team hope to use familiar ground to turn around a string of poor finishes into some positive results at their favorite racetrack. Matt the defending 2005 Eldora Speedway Dream $100,000 winner is coming off a weekend that started out good but ended up with two wrecked racecars and poor finishes.
On Saturday Matt competed at the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA in a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Matt won the second heat race and drew the number one starting position for the 50-lap feature event that paid $10,000 to the winner. Matt's hopes for a possible win or a good finish would end on the first lap as he and Marshall Green raced hard into turn one and both cars made contact resulting in Green hitting the outside wall and Matt's car suffering too much damage to continue. Matt was credited with a 23rd finish. From there the team headed to Gaffney SC and competed in another series sanctioned event at Cherokee Speedway on Sunday night. Matt would finish third in his heat race to earn a 11th starting position for the 50-lap feature event that also paid $10,000 to the winner. Matt moved into the top ten running between 8th and 10th until a lap 30 crash at the front of the field collected Matt and several other competitors. Matt was unable to continue and was credited with a 15th place finish.
After nine events on the Lucas Oil late Model Dirt Series in 2006, Matt is currently 6th in the series point standings 210 points out of first place. Matt has one win on the series in 2006 at East Bay Raceway Park during speedweeks. We need to get this thing turned around. I haven't finished a race in a while now. Hopefully Eldora will be a good boost to get our program back on track, stated Matt.
