Lebanon, MO(April 21, 2007)-Beating two-time defending O’Reilly Auto Parts Winged Outlaw Warrior champion Randy Martin into turn one, Gabe Maycock led all twenty laps to win his first career WOW race in the season opener at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway.

Maycock and Martin would pace the sixteen car field on the original start, but a car would get sideways causing a big logjam midway through the pack with Rob Hartman getting the worst end of the deal as he took a couple of side rolls. Hartman would be okay, but the car was too damaged to continue. Also involved in the melee was Eric Jobe, who would go to the work area and remove his nose wing. Mallory Armfield stopped in the infield, but was able to continue and Brad Graham would not be able to continue as he sustained a damaged brake rotor sliding to a stop to avoid the accident.

On the second attempt at green, Maycock would show that he was the car to beat as he beat Martin into turn one and after a short battle, he would get out to a straightaway advantage as Curtis Boyer was able to overtake Martin on lap four.

The top three would remain the same until lap eight when Steve Mahannah would do a 360 in turn one bringing out the yellow.

On the restart, Maycock would take control again followed by Boyer and Martin.

On lap eleven, the top three would change as Toby Brown was able to pass Martin for third.

As Maycock continued to lead, the only thing standing in his way of his first career WOW win would be lapped traffic. On lap fourteen, Maycock would make contact with the lapped car of Steven Cross in turn four, but he would continue on to an eight car length win over Boyer. Brown would finish in the third position, followed by Martin, and Rusty Potter in fifth. Rookie Josh Fisher finished in sixth and also earned the KSE Hard Charger Award by passing five cars from his eleventh starting spot. Rounding out the top ten were Matthew Fox, Eric Jobe, Tyler Blank, and Mahannah.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts will run their second race of the season next Saturday at the 24 Raceway in Moberly, MO. They will then finish out the weekend with the running of the Bob Ramey Memorial in Sedalia on Sunday April 29th.
