(CHICKAMAUGA, GEORGIA) Dale McDowell picked up his first win of the young
season yesterday, as he captured the $12,000 to win World of Outlaw Late
Model Series feature at Atomic Motor Speedway, near Knoxville, TN. Dale
dominated the 60-lap Sunday portion of the Hoosier 100 and with his victory
yesterday, Dale took the point lead in the WoO Late Model Series point
standings. Dale finished second in his heat race and won his dash to put
him in position to start up front and eventually take the win.

The #17m nearly swept the Hoosier 100 weekend at Atomic, as he had the car
to beat in the $5,000 WoO Late Model Series feature event on Saturday night.
While leading, Dale tangled with a lapped car, causing him to spin and
relegating him to the tail of the field. He ended up with a disappointing
19th place finish in the 40-lap feature after leading the most laps in the
feature, winning his heat race, and winning his dash event.

"We had a great car all weekend long," said an elated McDowell on Monday.
"It would have been nice to win both of those shows, but I would much rather
have won the $12,000 than the $5,000 if I could have only won one of them.
That deal on Saturday with the lapped car was just a racing deal and it was
probably just as much my fault as it was his. It was good to rebound from
that yesterday by winning and taking the point lead."

The Petroff Towing / J&J Steel / New Vision Graphics #17m Larry Shaw /
Racetek Grand Prix will hit the track again this Friday night at the North
Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA. Dale will attempt to qualify for the
$10,000 to win Coca-Cola 100 at North Georgia and depending on how well he
does on Friday night, he will return to North Georgia Speedway the following
night for the feature. If Dale does not feel that his chances are strong
for a good run at North Georgia after qualifying, then the #17m team will
head up the road to the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN for a $5,000 to
win Southern AllStar Series show on Saturday. "The North Georgia race will
take priority this weekend because it pays a little more to win," stated
Dale.
