East Smethport, PA (July 16, 2014) Since 1984 when the McKean County Fair Association reconstructed the existing 3/8 mile oval, stock car racing has been a common theme during the summer months at the E. Smethport oval. On Sunday, a new era of racing begins at the NDRL's McKean County Raceway. Go Karts will be running starting Sunday afternoon to give the next generation of racers a chance to show their stuff on the MCR go kart oval.

MCR, General Manager, Chris Zuver, commented, "I am very excited to move into this adventure of our sport. GoKarting has gotten very big and popular and many of our future stock car racers are now kart racing. Kart racing is also a family affair also, as so many kids are karting with their parents and siblings and this alone makes it worthwhile seeing families racing together."

Go kart classes that will be running are: Novice, Youth, Clone 300, 350, 400, 450, Stock Appearing, Super Stock and Open classes. Purses for the paying classes will be announced real soon and the rules will be similar to Allegany Memorial Speedway kart rules in Allentown.
