Millsey-Question about Rock Mod Driver

Millsey, do you know of a Mike Francis? Just curious why in the world he was clear over here in Western Missouri, last saturday night at Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg. When the announcer said this guy was from Fredericktown I about fell out of the bleachers, as did a few other people. That must be about a 5-hour pull! Lance Kobush from New Florence, MO, and Gary Blackburn, Jr., from Fulton, MO, frequently travel this way. We are starting to see some "travelers" from the nether regions of Missouri come over here because of the high payout for mods, (weekly 1,000 to win on down in 100 dollar increments to last) but I never thought I'd here or see of someone pulling from that far in the state! Maybe he was up here in the "lakes" region for vacation and just brought the car with him?

Mike has been at Belle-clair as well. I think once he got the modified he just decided to start racing anywhere and everywhere have a good time. More power to him.

a better car this year that's a long trip from
frederictown to race how did he do?
 
He did okay I suppose. CMS is a tight little fast action track. Advertised as 3/8 mile but that's around the top. For first time out he did okay. We usually have normal car counts of around 45 or so mods so it takes 6 heat races and usually 2 b-mains to sort out the 24-car a-main field. He finished top 5 in the b so he came up a bit short for the a-main. Regardless, it was neat to see the Hoffman engine sponsor on the side way out here in western MO!
 
Yup, Mike's one of ours... He runs at the various tracks here in our region including Farmington and Fredericktown. He's not bad, but I don't think we've seen the best that Mike has to offer yet. Really nice guy who simply loves to race. He's a great addition to any track he runs at.
 
If I'm not mistaken Mikey bought his car from a builder over in that area and was there getting some work done to his car and decided to stay and race at CMS.
