Get ready to feel the roar of the ‘Historic Half Mile’ at Missouri State Fair Speedway once again this Friday night, June 25, when the Lucas Oil MLRA and MARS DIRTcar super late models make their way to the speedway for a full night of high drama and blazing speeds at the storied fairgrounds. This will mark the second appearance this year of the MLRA late models and first-ever appearance of the MARS DIRTcar late models at the venue. Street Stocks will also be on hand competing for a whopping $600 to win!

Rewinding to the first appearance of the year for the Lucas Oil MLRA late models on May 21, it was Billy Moyer, taking home the win, which turned out to be the catapult for his recent domination in the super late model ranks. Other strong finishes during the May event were posted by Chad Simpson, Terry Phillips, Chris Spieker and Byrant Goldsmith. Having a look at the MLRA standings, Brad Looney of Republic leads the way over six-time champion Al Purkey, Dave Eckrich, Chad Simpson, and Terry Phillips. Surprisingly, this marks the first-ever visit of the MARS DIRTcar series super late models in Sedalia, Missouri. Springfield’s Eric Turner will lead the charge of the MARS competitors to the fairgrounds as he looks to hold on to his current point lead ahead of Phillips, Gary Christian, Jeremy Payne, Rylan Long, and Darrell Mooneyham among others such as local favorites Matt Johnson, Larry Clawson, Alan Vaughn. Pit gates open at 4:30 this weekend, grandstands open at 5, hot laps begin at 7 with racing getting underway at 8 p.m. General admission is $18, Seniors 65+ and Military w/I.D. $15, kids six to twelve years $9, children five and under are free. All pit passes are $30 for the June 25th racing.

The always exciting and crowd pleasing Street Stocks will serve as the support class for the super late models as they compete for a whopping $600 to win! John Brooks was the last street stock competitor to drive to victory lane back in early May at the half mile and he is expected to contend for the win once again this weekend. Other drivers to look for include Chad Eickleberry, Herb Dannar, Jerry Schmidt, Michael Mullins, Bobby Ruff, and Ray Smith. Note, mention of any driver name does not guarantee appearance for this event!

The World of Outlaws will return for “Kasey’s King of Sedalia” presented by Budweiser Tuesday, June 29th and tickets may be purchased on the same day of the event, all reserved seats are sold out for this event. Star NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne, who is co-promoting the event in association with the World Racing Group, will also compete. Adult tickets are $35 with tickets for children 6 to 12 years old $9. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. Hot laps begin at 7 p.m. followed by World of outlaws Time Trials, and racing at 8 p.m. All times are approximate and subject to change. The track’s W-K Chevrolet Modifieds will serve as support class for this event and drivers may still enter this event on the night of the race!
