NEW FLORENCE, MO (June 18) –-Montgomery County Speedway fans were treated to an exciting night of racing on the high banked ¼ mile facility. In the UMP Budweiser Late Models Ken Rumble and Steve Grotz won their heat races, with Rumble taking the dash. This would setup an exciting 25 lap feature event where Todd Rehg would take an early lead from pole sitter Ken Rumble.
Ken Rumble then found himself in a side by side duel for second place with Shawn Rayfield, the two would race side by for most of the race with Rumble managing to hold on to second place.
Rounding out the top five was 1. 17w Todd Rehg, 2. 87 Ken Rumble, 3. 18R Shawn Rayfield, 4. 22g Steve Grotz, 5. 33p Keith Pratt.
In the UMP Miller A-Modifieds Leroy Haney and Rusty Griffaw hooked up for a seesaw battle that wasn’t decided until the checkered flag fell. Haney took the lead on lap one and ran the inside line, Griffaw worked his way to 2nd running the top line. Haney and Griffaw ran side by side for the rest of the feature in and out of lap traffic; on the white flag lap they encountered a lap car running the middle line. Haney took the low line and Griffaw the high as all 3 cars crossed the finish line in a virtual dead heat, Leroy Haney was named the winner of the feature event.
Rounding out the top five was 1. 14h Leroy Haney, 2. 16 Rusty Griffaw, 3. N1 Gary Archambauld, 4. 13x Timmy Hill, 5. 26 Jeff Horst
In the B-Modified division Mike Vanderiet, Jr. was trying to win his 2nd feature in a row but 3 time winner Craig Roden wasn’t ready to give him the win. Craig Roden took the lead on lap one of the feature and withstood challenge after challenge from Mike Vandereit, Jr. Craig Roden was able to hold off Mike Vanderiet, Jr. to capture his 4th feature win of the season at Montgomery County Speedway.
Rounding out the top five for B-Modified feature was 1. 27 Craig Roden, 2. 007 Mike Vanderiet, Jr., 3. 36j Tim O’Brien, 4. 17k Brian Kinnaird, 5. 21 Randy Dickman.
Action in the Pepsi Super Street division saw one of the best Super Street features of the season as point leader Ron Imm squared off with 2nd place in points Daryl Dodge. Ron Imm took the early lead with Daryl Dodge hot on the trail. The two drivers traded the lead back and forth until they came upon lap traffic and Daryl Dodge was able to grab the lead. Ron Imm was trying to make another run at the lead when Kenny Harris was able to duck under him entering turns 3 and 4.
The crowd was on it’s feet as the three cars came charging down to the finish line with Daryl Dodge picking up his 4th feature win of the season.
Rounding out the top five in the Pepsi Super Street division was 1. 18 Daryl Dodge, 2. 69 Kenny Harris, 3. 75 Ron Imm, 4. 01 Beau Davis, 5. 7 Kevin Owens.
In the RAMS Mini Stock division Dave Wofford, Jr. continues to dominate. Dave won his 7th feature event of the season and has won two features in a row so there will be another $100 bounty to anyone that can beat Dave Wofford, Jr. in the feature event at Montgomery County Speedway.
Rounding out the top five in the RAMS Mini Stock division was 1. 0 Dave Wofford, Jr., 2. 90 Wes Kintz, 3. 59m Mike Meyer, 4. 42 Lane Ehlert, 5. 343 Butch Hartman.
