Moody Mile

Last Super Dirt week at the fairgrounds this weekend in Syracuse. It's a shame that after 112yrs of racing, they are going away. Good luck to Chris Fetter and Shane Cockrum in this last champ car race on the Moody mile.

Always wanted to go see those races there just never was able to. It will be interesting to see what track they pick to replace it with for Super Dirt week.

Central New York Raceway Park is under construction and will be the future of Super Dirt Week. It's going to include a 2.2 mile road course and 1/2 mile dirt track. Opening sometime in 2016 is the plan. New York State is investing funds into it, should be a state of the art place.

That's better than nothing. Just hate losing the mile racetracks, especially historical ones.

Last I heard that was the most likely choice. From the planed pictures of the place it looks like a hell of a facility.

They can move it wherever they want, but it won't be the same. The atmosphere at a fairgrounds mile cannot be re-created on the smaller tracks. After the Illinois Fall Nationals moved from Springfield, it was never the same. Good racing, yes, but the magic of a mile is what makes the miles magic.
