Billy "Mr. Smooth" Moyer of Batesville, Arkansas is a bridesmaid no more after three consecutive nights of runner up finishes at the 34th Annual Winternationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.

Moyer drove his Banner Valley hauling, J&J Steel, Petroff Towing, Pro Power Engines, Hoosier by Pup Rayburn chasis to victory in the opening event for the 2005 season of World of Outlaws Late Models. From his pole starting position, Moyer was the clear class of the field and was never challenged for the win until late in the closing laps as he and Don O'Neal encountered lapped traffic and O'Neal was able to close in on Moyer, but was unable to capitalize on the lapped traffic as Moyer drove to the win flawlessly.

61 cars took to the track which was lightning fast, and Ricky Elliott recorded the fastest lap of the Speedweks events thus far posting a lap time of 16.592.

The ten lap heat races would transfer the top three finishers to the 50 lap A-Main event. Brian Birkhofer, one of the newest members of the 2005 Dirty Dozen won the first heat over Elliott and Darren Miller. The second heat was won by Steve Francis over Mat Miller and Chub Frank. Third heat honors went to Moyer over an impressive run by 2005 WoO Rookie of the Year contender Josh Richards and Robbie Blair. The fourth heat was taken by Shane clanton over Scott James with yet another brute force Speedweeks performance and Greg Johnson. Fifth heat action seen Rick Eckert take the checkers ahead of Dale McDowell and Timmy McCreadie. The final heat was won by O'Neal over Dan Schlieper and Chris Madden.

Three consi events would transfer only the winner into the main event with consi victories being recorded by Steve Shaver, Scott Bloomquist and Mike Balzano.

The trophy dash to determine the first thre rows starting postions was won by Moyer over Francis, Birkhofer, Eckert, Cklanton and O'Neal.

In the 50 lap $10,000.00 to win a-main event it was Moyer who was followed at the stripe by O
