Mt. Vernon Steel Block rules

Given all the debate about the TCS rules for the Steel Blocks, does anyone know what the rules are for the "Steelers" at Mt. Vernon? When I clicked on the steel block rules section on the M.V .website, it links to the UMP site. That does no good...

Except for the block thing, right? If that's the case, the class sure seems redundant. One has to wonder why they don't just pay a decent bonus for the highest finishing "steeler" in the UMP LM feature.

Well like I said earlier if you don't like the way people run a steel block class. My only advice to you is RUN LATE MODELS AND QUIT WINING ABOUT IT. There are plenty of us around that dont mind to run for lower purses with less money in are equipment.

Debate about the TCS steel blocks? Where was that? I havent read any debate about that, I just read some guy claiming there was a single tire allowed in, which wasnt true. Thats not a debate. A debate was the Spec motor thread, and the classic thread was "Strippers for Trophy Girls." Oh well, when are the dog doo nationals again? MNM!!!??!!??!?!?!?!??!?

Hey Purcell, like I said earlier, I've nothing against this class--I'm actually for more spec motor LM type classes. Hey, I want to keep the sport alive. But if a track is already running LMs, and the rules are that close, then the class IS redundant.

It's like I've said about the B-mods. The classes are so similar that they are redundant.
And if a track pays a nice bonus to the higher finishing cars in the "higher" class, then no one's car would be obsolete.

Why do tracks need so many classes, anyway? Why not just have an entry-level class(i.e. Hornets, Bombers), an intermediate class(Sportsman OR MODS OR R.A.M.S., etc.) and an "a" class (LM, Sprint, etc.) .No less an authority than Dick Bergren and his columnists have been making this point in his mags for YEARS.

And given all the attention that has been given to curfews and such as of late, streamlining the classes--and thereby, the programs--makes even more sense.

The steel block class at mt vernon is the most entertaining class they have. Its always the best racing of the night. j/m/o
Hey eddie, i could drive your car for you if needed while your gone :) :D lol

Hairy, understand that I'm not ripping on the "Steelers." But if the races are so close in the steel blocks down there, why wouldn't merging them into the LMs just make THEIR races more entertaining? Streamlining the program would be the aim here. Ever read my signature?:)

Anyone who has actually READ my threads and posts will know that I'm a big advocate of the whole steel block-crate models-spec motor concept. It's all about keeping the LM class alive. But if a track is already running LMs, just merge the steelers into the full LMs and pay a bonus to the top finishing "b" late model. (I hate the "limited" LM term; it gives the wrong connotation.)

Actually sean, it is becoming very obvious that BP has set everyone else on his screen on ignore, and only types to read his own words. Now, where is the real entertainment on this board, the DOGGY DOOO NATIONALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sick and tired of wading through pointless bullshyt, let's get to the DOG SHYT!!! MnM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!

Hey Brandon.......... Read racer 85,s post again VERY VERY SSLLOOOWWWW !
See if maybe you understand it this time. But, I doubt it..

Hey Ronna Momma

You know you can drive that car anytime you want. The beach is awsome, we will probally be leaving west palm tuesday and heading for daytona.

So BP you want to combine LM's and steel blocks into one class??? With Mt. Vernon running 18 to 20 LM's in their feature and the steel blocks running roughly the same in their feature, you want 35 to 40 cars running a feature. Doesn't make sound right to me. Sounds like Nascar on dirt with all the cautions. I certainly hope they NEVER combine them!!!!
