Multiple sources say Tony Stewart ran over another driver tonight

He is clearly a young immature boy with no respect for anyone He will never drive a 700 hp racecar unless its on a video game with the attitude he has

See! See! You wouldnt like it would ya. My point exactly! And racin90. Your not good enough for me to tell you anymore info than you already know.

11 seconds he's running next to the car. 13 seconds he's airborne next to the car. Just saying.

He had time to start running? Or he just tried to survive in the split second that he could.

Rucket have you ever driven a racecar? Here is why i am asking. First in a racecar your vision is limitd especially with the new seats and hans devices. Not to mention your head bounces quite a bit under yellows as you feel every bump. Second look how dim lit the track was. In a racecar you will actually see shadows bad and things blend in especially dark objects. Third did you see the guy who passed him in front of tony? He almost ran over him with his whole car! Fourth you steer sprint cars with throttle. If he jammed the brakes car would have slid over him. They spin out on braking. Ive heard people wonder why the speed under yellow was fast. They have too due to the motor and fuel systems! It was an accident. People need to drop the kill word and use accident and learn to not walk kn racetracks under yellow conditons. I feel bad for the kid and bad judgement on his part cost him. Ive often wondered where the line will be drawn on retaliations and they rule tri city just implimented which i thought already was a rule is a step in the right direction. Its racing. Supposed to be for fun and we need to put it back that way

I kinda like some of what you said here to be honest. Your statements about retaliation is good. Kinda weak but good. Retaliation is a huge problem! It's been way out of hand for years! Thats the main points i have been trying to make. There should be no retaliation. Rubbing is racing. Because driving on the edge is racing. No one is perfect. It would be an amazing sport if everyone started racing rather than taking stuff personally.
Kevin shouldn't have been in the driving paths of cars going by. He also took it personally. He was mad.
Tony's actions were 10 times worse. Not because he destroyed a life. Because he retaliated. Tony is over 40 years old correct? The rest is self explanatory.

I hate talking about this stuff. It shouldnt be such a huge problem. If everyone actually reads all the posts and has been around the racing world long enough. Unless you love seeing people getting hurt and cars getting trashed for the fun of it. Then you know where my inspiration rises from. Tons of people pour their heart and soul into this stuff. All this should be old news.

Pretty sure he was running parallel to the racecar and in the same direction of travel. Therefore leading most to believe he was still attempting to get Tony's attention not run away to avoid Tony. Also 11 seconds out of the car isn't split second survival. Staying in his car or walking immediately of the track would be survival to most I am sure.

obviously this is a tragic situation, but I dont think it was Stewarts fault. I have never driven a sprint car but I hear they arent great to drive under caution, and I would think the wing hanging down on the right side would limit some vision.

I dont think the whole 'staying in your car' is a big deal here either. i think the track crews need to get there faster and need to stop people from going after other cars / drivers under caution. I have seen just this year COUNTLESS times that officials let drivers walk right by them and go after other cars. It is no better in the pit area. 9 out of 10 times when you see something happen on the track you know if there is going to be problems in the pits.

He explains it right here.

You obviously don't know what side if this your taking. One moment your saying it's Tony 's fault next time your putting Jimmy 's post up saying it explains it all. Bottom line it's a tragic situation for both involved. Tony doesn't need to be in jail he's going to pay for the rest of his life with the memories. You know people always say everything happens for a reason. Reasons may never be figured out or understood by any of us. Point is for multiple lives to be ruined even more than they already are just makes no sense.

Yeah obviously i have no flippin clue about anything. Both drivers once again. You dont have to get out of the car to retaliate. Tony should be a big boy now. His temper hasnt calmed down one bit.

In slow motion he might have time to turn his body and instantly start running next to the car. He could of grabbed on because he was mad. Or he could of tried to survive because he realized he just got himself into one hell of a situation.

HE GOT HIMSELF INTO ON HELL OF A SITUATION. You said it yourself right there. Tony did not intentionally run that man over. And just for the record seconds may not seem like a long time but they truly are. It takes milliseconds to react he had plenty of time to react judging by the video.

WOW REALLY PLENTLY OF TIME TO REACT??o_O

Would sure like to see Rucket behind the wheel and ask him everything he sees or not see. Tony my have temper but he's not going to run a human over on purpose

Yes plenty of time. He had from the time he got out of the car til he walked down the track past the first passing car the gap between that car and Tony 's car. Once Tony approached he still had time to say wow he's gonna be close to me maybe I should step up the track. He clearly had time to reach his arm out to grab the wing weather it was to try and stop get Tony 's attention or try to save his life he still had time. Seconds are a lifetime when situations happen. If you don't believe me go ask a bull rider they who do ride bulls for a living will tell you that just 8 seconds seems like a life time when your on the bull. And no before anyone says I'm comparing a tragic death of a fellow racer to bull riding I'm not. I'm trying to give you a example of time.
