dear sirs,
i would like to bring it to someones attention that i am not a happy customer! i attended the charter 250, well to start the pfroblems off 1st thing someone was sitting in my seats. then when we asked the ushers to do something about it they sent some little smart mouth girl to tell me if anyone had a problem with thier seating that security would be up to take anyone to jail that has a problem! now i think that is about the biggest load of B. S. I HAVE EVER HEARD OF! i ordered my tickets off line and payed $63.00 apiece and the $15.00 parking we are now at $141.00. we were supposed to be in grandstand m section 159 row 31 seats 4 and 5. instead we had to sit lower in the stands . BECAUSE OF BEING THREATENED TO BE TAKEN TO JAIL!! now thats only the first problem. now the second problem is the speakers were not working so we had no clue as to what was going on other than what happened right in front of us! due to being forced to sit lower in the stands. now my questions to you are, how would you feel if you were treated this way and you spent your hard earned money and were treated as criminals? you are a business providing a service to paying customers. which i am. now my next question is what is this business "GATEWAY RACEWAY" going to do to make this right?
(i know i wont get a response but i think they will get the picture that i'm not at all happy with thier service!!!!!)

You have a right to be angry. Next time show em' by supporting the local dirt track of your choice and leave the napcar guys alone.

If you had the tickets in hand I don't understand why they wouldn't honor your seats that you payed for and even did it in advance. What is gateway thinking I think they need to check into some of their staff before it ruins it for future shows. That makes Gateway Look bad!!!

What Do You Expect From Nascrap ,lik the Dog Says Next Time Support A Dirt Track , I'LL BE GOING TO THE DREAM INTHE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS,WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS LIKE THAT AND JUSSSSSST A LITTLE MORE COMPETION

Hey Sloppie

This Is Tigger Call Over There And Speak To A Guy Named Joe Ziblow He Should Take Care Of Ya.

Joe Zydlo (note spelling) handles the PR for GIR.

Having had a one-on-one meeting with Matt Strelo and Joe Zydlo I can assure you that they do listen to their customers. They have implemented specific changes to the facility based on only two to three reasonable letters.

I agree with Eileen that Matt and his gang are professional folks who are doing their best and have made great strides. However, I know first hand how awful other parts of the staff can be to deal with - not the top management but the others. As I said on another thread - over 6 wks of constant calling, voicemails and being blown off by their corporate ticket office for a new manufacturer in the sport... that doesn't resonate well and was a huge blackmark on Gateway. Even Homestead-Miami was better to work with! I thought perhaps it was just something with our office having the Gateway dread but I recently spoke with a high profile sponsor from the midwest involved in NASCAR and the NHRA and they have had about enough with the tickets and sponsor-support related services at GIR. A real shame but just like someone else being in the seats... if they can't handle straight-forward, case closed situations like that, they are really going to limit their supporters both in terms of fans and teams/sponsors. I hope they get things improved to match some of the higher level management moves.

I agree Pit... Laura and I went to every Friday practice and Saturday event the first year and when it was time to re - order we could get our seats bumped by some new person coming along. Could not guareentee my seats. So I could not guarentee I'd be back and haven't. Would love to go see the drags again they were flat AWESOME!!!! ;)

The pre-paid parking was a mess. They ran out of spots behind the dragstrip by 5 PM and the race did not start until 7. We wasted over half an hour driving from outside of turn 1 all the way to the will-call booth to find out they were out of spots and would not honor our paid parking pass in any of their lots. There were quite a few other cars in line with us that were being told the same thing. We had to drive to the privately owned lot behind the truckstop, pay more money, and then missed the beginning of the race. Halfway through the race, my wife made the mistake of going to the track run concession booth and was gone for over 50 laps. Somehow, Gateway manages the get things working and then the next race they manage to screw it up again. Granted they have a tough job, but they are dealing with roughly the same number of people every year for the past decade so you think they would have a handle on some of the problems.

A word of warning. If you are going to the NHRA out there, do not believe the rules on the website regarding what you can bring in. Two years in a row I have looked at the website then arrived at the track and had to throw things away because they had a new set of rules at the gate.

Didnt somebody post a poll about Gateway getting a Nextel race? That is just downright laughable.

This was our first time at Gateway, and we didn't have a problem with them. In the letter they sent with our tickets it outlined what you could and couldn't bring in. Thats what we brought. We didn't have to throw anything away or take back to the van. All the staff we talked to was very considerate. We are thinking about going back next year for the Busch race.

some of the problems started with them selling infield rv parking.no one checked who or what was brought in in the motor homes and no one took tickets from the race fans from the motor home , we could just walk in with anything we wanted too, very strange way to run a race track i still have my ticket intack, evedentle the ones that were in the wrong seat didnt have any tickets/ the usher was wrong he/she should have checked the tickets to make sure the right person was using the seats/ incidently we were in section m row 38 / 39

Just to clarify. The rules regarding what you can bring in have been acurate except the the past 2 NHRA weekends. I checked the website and they do not have different rules listed for this year either, but would suspect that they will be different than what is posted.

I guess it was better this year than when we were stuck for three hours in the lot behind the truckstop when nobody was directing traffic out of the lot.

I went the first couple of years to Gateway. I would much rather get a pit pass and a good meal and gas to a major dirt track event and still have money left over to spend. Gateway was a rushed deal to satisfy the greed, not thinking about the future.

sounds like many of the same problems we experienced there two years ago, discourtious track employees, cramped seating, long lines, no parking, etc. I to wrote leters to gateway and nascar, they sent tickets for the IRL race as a comp.... couldnt give those away. sounds like nothing has changed. they got alot of work to do to ever get me to think about going back. doubt they will ever get a cup date
