NARA BoB Open Wheel Modifieds Head to Ponderosa and Bluegrass This Weekend

LEXINGTON, KY -- After a weekend in western portion of the state, the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series ventures back to the central part of Kentucky with a weekend double-header this Friday, August 12th, at the Ponderosa Speedway and this Saturday, August 13th, at the Bluegrass Speedway.


On Friday night, August 12th, the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series rolls into the Larry Yantz promoted Ponderosa Speedway. In their only previous visit to "The Pond" this year, points leader Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN picked up the win. The 3/8-mile high-banked oval is located west of US 127 at Shelby City to Junction City, then 1.1 miles south on State Road 37, then 0.4 mile east, then north. On Saturday night, August 13th, the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series will make stop #10 on the 2005 season tour at the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY. Batesville, IN native Ted Nobbe cashed the winning paycheck in the series' last visit to Bluegrass back in May. The David and Anita Ferrell promoted 1/2 mile facility is located at Exit 21 along the Bluegrass Parkway just outside of historic Bardstown, KY. Both Friday and Saturday night will feature a complete show for the BoB Mod Squad with Racing Optics Time Trials, VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races, PBM Performance Products/Dale Meers Racing Engines B-Mains, and the Rattliff Motors A-Main paying $1,500 to win and $125 to start each night. The complete A-Main payoff for each event is as follows:

Eight races into the 2005 season for the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series, Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN leads the points chase followed by defending series champion Kelly Warren, Justin Rattliff, Adam Cole, and Joe David Turner. Over 150 different drivers have competed with the BoB Modifieds this year and there have been six different winners in the last six races with Kramer being the only repeat winner on the circuit all season.
