(Paducah, KY) With the passing of NASCAR Vice Chairman and Motorsports pioneer Bill France Jr., Paducah International Raceway regrets to announce that NASCAR Night I presented by Harrah’s Metropolis Casino Hotel scheduled for Thursday June 7th, 2007 has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

With the relationships that the drivers had with Mr. France, the commitment that they have for the entire NASCAR family, and with his funeral to be held in Daytona Beach, Florida on Thursday, we thought it would be best to postpone the race to a later date so that all the drivers could attend and possibly bring in more drivers for the race at a later date said Bob Sargent Co- Owner of Paducah International Raceway. “ We extend our condolences to the France Family as well as all of NASCAR” Sargent went on to say.

“ I hate it for the Paducah fans but Mr. France was very important to all of us” said Earnhardt Jr. talking about the race being put off to a later date for the second time. Two-time Cup Champion Tony Stewart said, “ There’s not enough words to describe what he’s meant to the sport and what he’s done for it.”

NASCAR Night I presented by Harrah’s Metropolis Casino Hotel was originally scheduled for May 3rd and was postponed due to weather. A rescheduled date for NASCAR Night I will be announced in the near future. NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr., 2-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader, and Speed TV and Cup Driver Kenny Wallace were to appear and meet fans with a pre-race autograph session. Race fans should keep the tickets that they have purchased, as they will be honored when the event is rescheduled.

Due to the postponement of NASCAR Night I presented by Harrah’s Metropolis Casino Hotel, Paducah International Raceway will have a complete race program for drivers and fans on Friday June 8th, 2007. All divisions will be racing including UMP Late Models, Modifieds, Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, 4-Cylinder Warriors and Outlaw Mini Sprints.
