Nation wide trucker strike!!

has anyone else heard anything about the truckers going on strike to lower the gas prices???? :confused:
 
hmm....i agree with tnie.....i would think it would raise the price of everything.....someone was saying they done it back in the 80's
 
I would think truckers would worry about diesel prices and I,ve been watching unleaded prices jump about .40 cents a gal. I've allways been able to find diesel in the $1.50 range. I'm looking for a diesel excursion is why i've been watching prices. If you think about it wouldn't expect to see a major jump in diesel cause if they do the truckers/trucking companys are gonna pass it on then everything will go up cause without the trucks nothings moving.
 
Three weeks ago, independent truckers hauling containers from West Coast Ports staged a "strike" on the Ports, due to the fact diesel in Western states is $.50-$.65 a gallon higher than the National Avg and containerlines typically refuse to pay a fuel surcharge, thus the owner operators are forced to absorb the higher fuel cost. It caused a minor disruption in container movement. I have not heard of any National strike or protest to be taking place.
