CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies and the Mississippi Street Stock Series will team up to co-sanction the Twin $1,000-to-win races that will make up the NeSmith Performance Parts Summer National Shootout this Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
In the first $1,000-to-win race, drivers will be able to earn points in both the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division as a Week 17 race, and the Mississippi Street Stock Series. The second $1,000-to-win race will also serve as a NeSmith/AR Bodies Week 10 Make-Up race.
In addition to the Twin $1,000-to-win races, there will also be a Non-Qualifiers Race where the winner will have the option of pocketing the $400 winner’s share of that race, or give up the money and choose to start 25[sup]th[/sup] in the first $1,000-to-win $1,000-to-win race.
The format for the NeSmith Performance Parts Summer National Shootout will have the top six qualifiers locked into the main event, with qualifiers seventh on back going into B-Main races to determine starting positions seven through 24. At the conclusion of the first $1,000-to-win race, the top ten finishers will draw for their starting spots for the second $1,000-to-win race.
Top entries include the defending NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Champion and current MSSS point leader Trey Bright of Coker, AL, the defending MSSS Champion Calvin Cook of Pace, FL, the current NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Division point leader Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS, and local favorite Tyler Hurst of Lineville, AL.
