CARTERSVILLE, GA – The defending NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies National Champion Trey Bright of Coker, AL was awarded his third win of the 2014 season driving the AR Bodies Chevrolet powered by a $3,295 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

Bright took the win in the race co-sanctioned by the Mississippi Street Stock Series after the apparent winner Brooks Strength of Byrum, MS was disqualified during the post-race technical inspection due to a carburetor rule infraction with his Roofing With Strength Chevrolet.

NeSmith/AR Bodies Week 10 competition was marred by six rainouts with only three events being able to be run to their completion. Week 10 competition got under way last Monday night where David Windham of Florala, AL drove the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet to his first win of the 2014 season at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL.

The victory moved Windham to within eight points of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point leader Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS. Leftwich has 443 points after five top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in ten races over ten weeks. Leftwich drove the STR Race Cars Chevrolet to a tenth-place finish on Saturday night at Southern Raceway.

Windham has one win, five top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in 11 races over ten weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition. Mike Lane of Pace, FL drove the Lane’s Vinyl Siding Chevrolet to a seventh-place finish on Saturday night at Southern Raceway to move to the third spot in the standings with 394 points after five wins, eight top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in ten races over nine weeks.

The fourth and fifth-place drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings were the only two drivers in the top ten of the standings that were caught in the rain and did not compete in Week 10 action. Scooter Ware of West Point, MS is fourth in the standings with 382 points and Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is fifth with 378 points.

Ware has three wins, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in ten races over nine weeks driving the Peay’s Auto Salvage Chevrolet. Idom has six wins, ten top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 12 races over eight week of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition in the Performance Bodies “Throwback” 1957 Chevrolet.

Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS is sixth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 375 points after four wins, five top five finishes, and seven top ten finishes in eight races over eight weeks. Whittington finished sixth on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in the Ergon, Inc. Chevrolet.

Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL is seventh in the standings with 353 points after one win, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in eight races over eight weeks, Shaw drove the Shaw Racing Chevrolet to a second-place finish last Monday night at Flomaton Speedway.

Despite a rough week of racing, Braden Harris of Molina, FL is tied for the eighth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with Michael Williams of Saucier, MS with 348 points apiece.

Harris has one win and six top five finishes in nine NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races over eight weeks. Harris failed to start the feature events last Monday night at Flomaton Speedway, and again on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet.

Williams drove the Williams Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at Southern Raceway to move up to the ninth spot in the point standings. Williams has five top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in nine NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races over eight weeks.

Garrett McDonald of Pace, FL rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 313 points after one win, four top five finishes and six top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks. McDonald drove the Copperhead Chassis Chevrolet to a third-place finish last Monday night at Flomaton Speedway.

In other NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 10 action, Barry Daniels of Dyersburg, TN showed he is a driver to watch in the National Championship hunt in the coming weeks, as he won his third straight race on Saturday night at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO driving the B&M Auto & Wrecker Service Chevrolet.

Rain washed out all three NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 10 scheduled events at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL. Saturday night rainouts were at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Officials at Jackson Motor Speedway have announced they will host Double Feature Races this Saturday night for the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division. One race will be a Week 10 Make-Up Race with National points awarded for that week, plus the regularly scheduled Week 11 event.

A total of 184 drivers have earned points in the first ten weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition.
