CARTERSVILLE, GA – While the battle for the 2014 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies National Championship has been won by Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS, there is still a lot of business to be conducted in the last three weeks of the season to see who will fill in the second through tenth points fund-paying positions in the point standings.
Week 25 of the 27-week NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division 2014 season will see five races in four states. Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will open Week 25 competition on Friday night, with the highlighted Week 25 race on Saturday night being a $1,000-to-win event co-sanctioned by the Mississippi Street Stock Series at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS.
Also on the Saturday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 25 schedule of races are Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
While Idom has already captured the 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Championship with 698 points and 14 wins, there is still one piece of unfinished business Idom would like to take care of in the last three weeks of the season. Of his 14 wins, 12 of them are counting towards his best 14 week total, as two of them were on the same week as another win.
Since only one of the two wins that occurred in the same week count in Idom’s best 14 week total, he needs two wins in two of the last three weeks of the season to reach a perfect point total of 700 points. Idom can still net on a pair of 49-point second-place finishes to complete a “Perfect Season.”
The 2013 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Champion Trey Bright of Coker, AL is second in the standings with a best 14 week total of 682 points, and he will be trying to net on a 45 in his next race.
