CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies expansion hits high gear with Week 2 competition, as several new tracks for 2014 will host their first Division event. There will be nine races in five states, with two events on Friday night and seven races on Saturday night.
Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will highlight Friday night Week 2 NeSmith/AR Bodies action with a $1,000-to-win race. Also in action on Friday night will be Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.
Saturday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Week 2 races will be held at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, Smokey Harris Speedway in Haleburg, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS leads the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock National point standings with 50 points. Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is second with 49 points, and Rick Leverette of Meridian, MS is third with 48 points. Jeremy Idom of Gulfport, MS holds the fourth spot with 47 points, and Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA is fifth with 46 points.
Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL, the 2013 NeSmith/AR Bodies National Championship Runner-Up, is sixth in the National point standings with 45 points, and Jeffrey Walker of Meridian, MS is seventh with 44 points. Michael Williams of Saucier, MS is eighth with 43 points, and Bill Moffett of Meridian, MS is ninth with 42 points.
There are ten drivers tied at 41 points for the tenth and final points fund paying point in the standings at the end of the season.
Drivers that race at NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 28. The 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies National Champion will pocket $2,000 and the National point fund pays back to the Top 10 drivers at the end of the season.
