CARTERSVILLE, GA – Youth was served in Week 19 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season, as four drivers under the age of 20 won five events. Josh Henry, 18 of Newport, TN drove the Henry Trucking TNT to a pair of wins on Saturday night in East Region action at Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN for his sixth and seventh wins of the season.

Henry will lead the Mountain Raceway Park continent of drivers when the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour visits the historic 4/10-mile clay oval this Saturday night for a $3,000-to-win 50-lap main event.

Chase Edge, 16 of Lafayette, AL took his first-career NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region on Saturday night in a double-points event at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Gar’s Cash Flow Mastersbilt. The double-point win kept Edge in East Region title contention.

Michael Arnold, 18 of Hattiesburg, MS picked up his series-leading ninth win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Reynolds Racing Trak-Star. Arnold is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings, and is in a position to take over the point lead in the coming weeks.

NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region point leader, two-time West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS has 780 points based on his best 16 finishes with six wins, 19 top five finishes, and 20 top ten finishes in 23 starts driving the Boland Performance Trak-Star. Arnold has 752 points based on his best 16 finishes.

The difference in the 28 points separating Keeton and Arnold are the 30 bonus points Arnold can still collect by competing in three NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring events. Keeton has already earned his 40 bonus points this season. Arnold also has a series leading 24 top fives, and series-leading 30 top tens in 31 starts.

The “Senior Citizen” of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series “Young Guns” is 19-year-old Chase Washington of Houlka, MS, who took his first WRS West Region win of the season on Saturday night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Jerry Inmon Race Cars GRT. Washington is 12th in the West Region point standings, but has the ninth-highest Event Point Average.

Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL holds a 32-point lead over 19-year-old Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings. Knowles has 768 points based on his best 16 finishes after seven wins, 16 top fives, and 18 top tens in 19 starts driving the All-Star Graphics Warrior.

Dudley has 736 points based on his best 16 finishes in 20 starts driving The Racing Zone GRT to one win, 15 top fives, and 17 top tens. Dana Eiland of Salem, AL is third in the East Region standings with 696 points based on his best 16 finishes after four wins, 13 top fives, and 17 top tens in 20 starts driving the Andy’s Auto Parts GRT.

The double-points win for Edge moved him up to the fourth spot in the East Region points chase with 687 points after one win, ten top fives and 21 top tens in 28 starts. Terrance Nowell of Phenix City, AL is fifth in the East Region standings, but has the third highest EPA, and still has one more race to earn full points.

Nowell has 680 points with one win, and 14 top fives in 15 starts driving the Clarence’s Truck Repair GRT. Jacob Anderson of Murphy, NC is sixth in the East Region standings with 645 points based on his best 16 finishes in 20 starts after six wins, 18 top fives, and 19 top tens driving the Jacob Anderson Company GRT.

Richie Stephens of Phenix City, AL moved up to the seventh spot with 642 points and still has one more race to earn full points, Stephens has four wins, 11 top fives, and 12 top tens in 15 starts driving The Ride 95.3 Scorpion.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region Champion Adam Martin of Talladega, AL moved into the top ten of the East Region standings, settling into a tie for the eighth spot with Larry Harrod of Plains, GA at 632 points. Martin and Harrod both have four wins in 14 starts. Martin also has 11 top fives in the Martin Racing Barry Wright.

Harrod picked up his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL driving the Harrod Logging Scorpion. Harrod also has 12 top fives and 13 top tens. Marc Gooden of Lafayette, AL rounds out the top ten in the East Region standings with 631 points based on one win, eight top fives and 14 top tens in 16 starts driving the RPI GRT.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region Week 19 action, Jeff Landrum of Lanett, AL drove the Mitcham Auto Parts Scorpion to his second win of the season on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL. Seth Wimpey of Blue Ridge, GA was a first-time winner on Saturday night at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC driving the Tim Allen Construction Barry Wright.

In the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point standings, Kody Barber of Bogalusa, LA and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS are tied for the third spot behind Keeton and Arnold. Barber and Lee have 736 points based on their best 16 finishes.

Barber has seven wins, 13 top fives and 20 top tens in 23 starts driving the Barber’s Hardware Mastersbilt. Lee has four wins, 23 top fives, and 27 top tens in 29 starts driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS is fifth in the West Region standings with 722 points based on his best 16 finishes in 18 starts driving the Ware Construction Trak-Star. Williams has eight wins and 15 top fives. Another “Young Gun,” 18-year-old Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS is sixth with 709 points, and still has one more race to earn full points.

Cooley has seven wins, 14 top fives and 15 top tens in 15 starts driving the 78 Towing and Recovery Victory Circle. “Downtown” Tracy Brown of Lumberton, MS is seventh with 705 points based on his best 16 finishes after two wins, 18 top fives, and 21 top tens in 23 starts driving the Triple R Painting Rocket.

Owen Stockstill of Purvis, MS is eighth with 627 points based on his best 16 finishes driving the Stockstill Trucking Trak-Star to seven top fives and 18 top tens in 21 starts. Randall Beckwith of Kilmichael, MS is ninth with 594 points, and still has one more race to earn full points. Beckwith has six wins, 10 top fives, and 12 top tens in 15 starts driving the Hi-Grade Farm Supply Rocket.

Scott Ladner of Lumberton, MS rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 583 points after driving the D&J Development GRT to three top fives, and 17 top tens in 20 starts.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Week 19 action, Brandon Smith of Batesville, AR took his first win of the season on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR driving the Meeler Racing GRT.

Veteran Bub McCool of Vicksburg, MS drove to his first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Usry Architects Trak-Star.

Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL picked up his second NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Century Carriers Trak-Star.

Wins by McRee, Arnold, and McCool kept the 19-week win streak alive for Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL. Trak-Star Race Cars leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufactures Challenge point standings with 39 wins.

Smith, Washington, and an August 4 win at EAMS by Bobby Eiland of Phenix City, AL picked up three more wins for the defending and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufactures Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR. GRT is second in the Chassis Manufactures points chase with 32 wins.

The win by Edge gave Mastersbilt Race Cars of Crothersville, IN its 23rd win of the season and the third spot in the point standings. Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth with 15 wins.

Henry’s pair of victories brought the win total for TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN to eight and the fifth spot in the standings. C.J. Rayburn Race Cars of Whiteland, IN is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Chassis Manufactures Challenge with one win.
