NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND UP FOR JULY 13

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 15 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series saw seven Top 20 drivers take wins in the nine races that were completed. Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL continues to lead the East Region point standings, and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS still tops the West Region point standings.

Knowles has 752 points in 16 starts with seven wins, 13 top five finishes, and 15 top ten finishes driving the All-Star Graphics Warrior. Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL is second in the East Region standings with 670 points in 15 starts after one win, 13 top fives, and 14 top tens in The Racing Zone GRT.

Dana Eiland of Salem, AL drove the Andy’s Auto Parts GRT to his third win of the season on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL to move up to the third spot in the East Region standings. Eiland now has 637 points with three wins, 10 top fives and 13 top tens in 15 starts.

Jacob Anderson of Murphy, NC had a good weekend with his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC driving the Jacob Anderson Company GRT to go with a second-place finish in Friday night at Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, GA. Anderson has 623 points based on his top 16 finishes with four wins, 15 top fives, and 16 top tens in 17 starts to hold down the fourth spot in the East Region standings.

Jason Deal of Copperhill, TN is fifth in the East Region standings with 605 points based on his top 16 finishes after driving the Cougar Fireworks GRT to two wins, 16 top fives and 17 top tens in 17 starts. Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL is sixth with 601 points based on his top 16 finishes after three top fives and 13 top tens in 19 starts driving the Gar’s Cash Flow Mastersbilt.

Rodgerick Dykes of Smith Station, AL is seventh in the East Region standings with 598 points after driving the Tri-City Machine Works GRT to two top fives and 15 top tens in 16 starts. Terrance Nowell of Phenix City, AL is eighth with 548 points in just 12 starts in the Clarence’s Truck Repair GRT after turning in one win and 11 top fives.

Marc Gooden of Lafayette, AL is ninth in the East Region standings with 515 points based on six top fives and 11 top tens in 13 starts driving the RPI GRT. Josh Henry of Newport, TN rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings with 477 points after driving the Henry Trucking TNT to four wins, 11 top fives, and 12 top tens in 13 starts.

In other Week 15 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region action, Brian Kinnersley of Blairsville, GA drove the Arrant Spreader Service Mastersbilt to his seventh win of the season on Friday night at Sugar Creek Raceway. Kinnersley is currently 12th in the East Region standings with 463 points in 12 starts.

Hunter Best of Greenback, TN took his third win of the season on Saturday night at Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN driving the Robin Myrick Realty Executives Warrior. Best is 14th in the East Region standings with 458 points in 12 starts.

Jerry Goodwin of Eastaboga, AL took his second win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Goodwin is 17th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings with ten starts.

Keeton did not net any points during Week 15 competition in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region, but he still leads the standings in quest of his third West Region title in the last four season with 764 points based on his top 16 finishes. Keeton has six wins, 16 top five finishes, and 17 top ten finishes in 20 starts driving the Boland Performance Trak-Star.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS grabbed his series-leading eighth win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS in the Reynolds Racing Trak-Star. Arnold is second in the West Region standings with 738 points based on his top 16 finishes in 24 starts. Arnold has eight wins, 18 top fives, and 23 top tens.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region standings with 724 points based on his top 16 finishes in the Billy Riels Racing GRT. Lee has four wins, 20 top fives, and 22 top tens in 23 starts. Kody Barber of Bogalusa, LA is fourth with 711 points based on his top 16 finishes with five wins, 11 top fives and 18 tops in 19 starts driving the Barber’s Hardware Mastersbilt.

Tracy Brown of Lumberton, MS is fifth in the West Region standings with 703 points based on his top 16 finishes driving the Triple R Painting Rocket to two wins, 17 top fives, and 19 top tens in 21 starts.

Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS drove the 78 Towing and Recovery to his sixth win of the season by topping a 28-car field on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. Cooley is trying to win both the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring Championship and the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region title in the same season.

Cooley leads the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Tour points chase and is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region standings with 625 points after six wins, 12 top fives, and 13 top tens in 13 starts. Cooley can earn full points in three more NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region events.

Owen Stockstill of Purvis, MS is seventh in the West Region standings with 600 points based on six top fives, and 13 top tens in 16 starts driving the Stockstill Trucking Trak-Star. Scott Ladner of Lumberton, MS is eighth with 577 points based on his top 16 finishes after driving the D&J Development GRT to two top fives and 16 top tens in 18 starts.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS is still a West Region title contender with 553 points in just 13 starts in the Ware Construction Trak-Star. Williams is ninth in the West Region standings with six wins, and 10 top fives. Williams also can earn full points in three more NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region events.

Chase Washington of Houlka, MS is another driver still in the running for the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region Championship from the tenth spot. Washington has 508 points with six top fives, and ten top tens in just 12 starts.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region action on Saturday night, Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS won his first series event of the season at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Cliburn Performance GRT. Bryan Foy of Lacombe, LA won his second series event of the season at South Mississippi Speedway in Gulfport, MS driving the Jody P Racing Engines Trak-Star.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competitors will have an opportunity to earn bonus points that will be added to their best 16 finish totals this Friday and Saturday nights by entering the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring events on Friday night at Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, TN and on Saturday night at Mountain Raceway Park.

Drivers can earn up to 40 bonus points by competing in NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Touring events, as ten bonus points are awarded at each event to NeSmith Chevrolet WRS drivers. The Friday night Wartburg Speedway event will be 40-laps and $2,000-to-win, and the Mountain Raceway Park race will be 50-laps and pay $2,500-to-win.

In the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufactures Challenge, wins by Arnold and Foy brought Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance in Cuba, AL up to a leading total of 32.

Wins by Eiland, Anderson and Scarbrough brought the defending and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Chassis Manufactures Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR up to the second spot with 20 wins on the season. Mastersbilt Race Cars of Caruthersville, IN had a win by Kinnersley to hold the third spot with 19 total wins.

Best gave Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN its 14th win of the season and the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufactures Challenge. TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN is fifth with five wins, and C.J. Rayburn Race Cars of Whiteland, IN is sixth with one win.
