CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will see eight events on the Week 14 schedule with seven races on tap in the West Region and just one event in the East Region, as many tracks have elected to take off the July 4th Holiday Weekend. One race has already been held in the East Region that has adjusted the East Region point standings.

Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS and Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, MS will open the NeSmith Chevrolet West Region Week 14 action on Friday night. Four West Region events will be held on Saturday night, and one on Sunday night.

Saturday night West Region events will be held at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, South Mississippi Speedway in Gulfport, MS, and Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS. Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS will host a West Region event on Sunday night.

Richie Stephens of Phenix City, AL drove The Ride 95.3 Scorpion to his third win of the season on Tuesday night in East Region action at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL. The only other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region event on the Week 14 schedule will be on Saturday night at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region point standings have been updated to reflect the EAMS Tuesday night event and a double-points event on June 26 at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL.

Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL continues to lead the East Region standings with 714 points based on seven wins, 13 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 15 starts driving the All-Star Graphics Warrior. Knowles now has a 118 point lead over Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL in The Racing Zone GRT. Dudley has 596 points with one win, 12 top fives, and 13 top tens in 13 starts.

Chase Edge of Penton, AL is in the third spot in the East Region standings, five points behind Dudley. Edge has 591 points based on his best 16 finishes in 18 starts with three top fives, and 12 top tens.

Dana Eiland of Salem, AL has made the biggest run in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings over the past two weeks, driving the Andy’s Auto Parts GRT from 12th to fourth spot. Eiland has 555 points with two wins, nine top fives, and 11 top tens in 13 starts.

Eiland’s move up the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings is a good example of a driver’s Weekly Point Average coming into play as their number of starts increase.

Knowles has the highest weekly point average among the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region drivers at 47.6 with 52.5 being a perfect weekly point average. There are 11 drivers in the East Region with a weekly point average of 40 or above with seven or more starts. Seven of those drivers are currently outside the top ten of the East Region standings.

Larry Harrod of Plains, GA is 14th in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS East Region standings, but has the second-highest weekly point average at 46.2. Harrod has 416 points in nine starts with two wins, eight top fives and 9 top tens in the Harrod Logging Scorpion. Dudley has the third highest weekly point average in the East Region at 45.8.

Terrance Nowell of Phenix City, AL has the fourth highest WPA at 45.6. Nowell is eighth overall in the East Region standings with 502 points based on one win, and ten top fives in 11 starts driving the Clarence’s Truck Repair GRT. Stephens is 28th in the East Region standings with 316 points, but has the fifth-highest WPA at 45.1. Stephens has three wins, five top fives, and six top tens in seven starts.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region Champion Adam Martin of Talladega, AL has the sixth-highest East Region WPA at 44.2. Martin is 15th in the East Region standings with four wins, and seven top fives in nine starts in the Martin Racing Barry Wright.

Eiland has the seventh-highest East Region WPA at 42.7. Bobby Eiland of Phenix City, AL has the eighth-highest East Region WPA at 42.3. Bobby Eiland is 22nd in the East Region overall standings with 338 points based on seven top five finishes in eight starts driving the Dry Creek/Paradise Pools GRT.

Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL has the ninth-highest East Region WPA at 41.8 and is 12th in the East Region standings with 418 points based on seven top fives in ten starts driving the Millennium Mechanical Mastersbilt.

Jerry Goodwin of Eastaboga, AL has the tenth-highest East Region WPA at 41.3, and is 18th in the East Region standings with 372 points based on one win, five top fives, and eight top tens in nine starts. Jimmy Evilsizer of Salem, AL in the Andy’s Auto Parts Swartz has the 11th-highest East Region WPA at 40.9, but is 33rd in the standings with 286 points based on two top fives and six top tens in seven starts.

There are 14 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region with a WPA of 40 or higher with seven or more starts. The driver with the highest West Region WPA is ninth in the point standings.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring point leader Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS has the highest WPA in the West Region at 47.9 after four wins, nine top fives and ten top tens in ten starts. Cooley holds down the ninth spot in the West Region standings with 479 points.

Two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion and current West Region point leader Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS has the second highest West Region WPA at 46. Keeton has 736 points based on his best 16 finishes with five wins, 14 top fives, and 15 top tens in 17 starts driving the Boland Performance Trak-Star.

Ben McCreary of Baldwyn, MS is way back in the 23rd spot of the West Region standings, but he has the third-highest WPA at 45.7. McCreary has 327 points with one win, four top fives, and six top tens in seven starts driving the Waddle Trucking Mastersbilt.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS has the fourth-highest West Region WPA at 45.1 and is second in the West Region standings with 722 points based on his best 16 finishes after driving the Reynolds Racing Trak-Star to seven wins, 15 top fives, and 20 top tens in 20 starts. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS has the fifth-highest West Region WPA at 44.5. Lee is third in the West Region standings with 712 points based on his best 16 finishes after four wins, 17 top fives, and 18 top tens in 19 starts driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS has the sixth-highest West Region WPA at 44.4, and is 16th in the standings with 355 points after driving the H.E. Mosley, Inc. Trak-Star to two wins, six top fives, and eight top tens in eight starts.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS is eighth in the West Region standings with 481 points, and has the seventh-highest WPA at 43.7. Williams has six wins and nine top fives in 11 starts driving the Ware Construction Trak-Star. Kody Barber of Bogalusa, LA and Wiley Williams of Stonewall, MS share the eighth highest West Region WPA at 43.3.

Barber is fourth in the West Region standings with 692 points based on his best 16 finishes after four wins, ten top fives, and 16 top tens in 17 starts driving the Barber’s Hardware Mastersbilt. Williams is 18th in the West Region standings with 346 points after driving the Tuxedo Auto GRT to one win, six top fives, and eight top tens in eight starts.

Tracy Brown of Lumberton, MS has the tenth-highest WPA in the West Region at 43.2. Brown is fifth in the West Region standings with 691 points based on his best 16 finishes after one win, 16 top fives, and 17 top tens in 19 starts driving the Triple R Painting Rocket. Randy Boyd of Marion, MS has the 11th-highest West Region WPA at 42.8 and is 19th in the West Region standings after one win, five top fives, and seven top tens in eight starts driving the Michael Harris Construction Trak-Star.

Chase Washington of Houlka, MS has the 12th-highest West Region WPA at 42, and is 13th in the West Region standings with 378 points. Washington has four top fives and seven top tens in nine starts driving the Jerry Inmon Race Cars GRT. Randall Beckwith of Kilmichael, MS has the 13th-highest WPA in the West Region at 41.4, and is 11th in the overall standings with 414 points.

Beckwith has four wins, and eight top fives in ten starts driving the Hi Grade Farm Supply Rocket. Jason Wilkey of Batesville, AR has the 14th-highest West Region WPA at 40.5, and is 22nd in the West Region standings with 324 points after driving the Dodds Signs Warrior to four wins and eight top fives in eight starts.
