NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 Preview

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The July 4[sup]th[/sup] Holiday Weekend will bring a limited schedule to NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 competition, but of the ten races in six states, four of them will pay $1,000-to-win. The top two drivers in the point standings will begin netting point after reaching the 14-week of their seasons, while the drivers behind them earn full points.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 competition will begin on Thursday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR. There will be three races on Friday night. Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will host a Week 14 Make-Up Race on Friday night.

Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will present the first half of an I-20 Challenge Series Double-Header on Friday night paying $1,000-to-win. Salina Speedway in Salina, KS will also present a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series event this Friday night.

Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS will host the second half of the I-20 Challenge Series Double-Header on Saturday night paying $1,000-to-win. Two more Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 events will pay $1,000-to-win at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN and at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX.

Other Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 races will be held at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, and St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point leader Adam Gauldin has reached the 14-week mark of his season with 645 points. Gauldin will now try to replace the lowest weekly point total among his best 14, which is a 25. Gauldin has the ninth highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 46.67 out of a possible 50.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 634 points, and the 12-year-old sensation has also reached the 14-week mark of his season. Skinner will be trying to net on a 41. That means if Skinner can take a 50-point win, he would net nine points on his season total.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third in the standings with 592 points and still has one more week to earn full points. Lee has the tenth highest WPA at 45.54. Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 546 points, and has one more week to earn full points.

Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 539 points, and has two more weeks to earn full points. Heath Minor of Ralph, AL is sixth with 528 points and has three more weeks to earn full points. Minor will be a driver to watch in the coming weeks, as he has the fourth highest WPA at 48.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is seventh in the standings with 524 points, and three more weeks to earn full points. Daspit has the fifth highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 47.64.

Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 523 points, three more weeks to earn full points, and he is tied for the sixth highest WPA at 47.55. Justin Angle of Anniston, AL is ninth in the standings with 508 points and two more weeks to earn full points.

Lee Burdett of Bessemer, AL rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 471 points and four more weeks to earn full points. Burdett has the eighth highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 47.1

There are fourth drivers outside the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings that are among the top ten on the WPA list, include the top three drivers. These drivers will be the ones to watch in the coming weeks as they attempt to work their way up the point standings and into the top ten.

Chris Holley of Dayton, TX is 13[sup]th[/sup] in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 449 points, but he has the highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 49.89. Holley still has five more weeks to earn full points, and in the nine races he has competed in, he has won eight, and finished second in the race he did not win.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS has the second highest WPA at 48.67 and the third-generation driver still has five more weeks to earn full points. Palasini is currently 15[sup]th[/sup] in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 438 points, and he has a good opportunity to really climb up the point standings with his home track Greenville Speedway hosting a Week 14 make-up race and a Week 15 point race this weekend.

Adam Beeler of Knoxville, TN is 19[sup]th[/sup] in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 433 points, but he has the third highest WPA at 48.11 and five more weeks to earn full points. Ryan King of Seymour, TN is 20[sup]th[/sup] in the standings with 428 points, but he is tied for the sixth highest WPA at 47.55, and he has five more weeks to earn full points,

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 28.

The 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.
