CARTERSVILLE, GA – The Top 10 Shuffle continues in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings as competition begins in Week 18 of the 27-week season. With 11 races on the Week 18 schedule events, four drivers will be netting points and six drivers will be earning full points in the battle for the $10,000 National Championship.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 18 action begins with three races on the Friday night schedule at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, and Salina Speedway in Salina, KS.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 18 events are scheduled for 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN with a $1,000-to-win race, Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

The top three drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings have reached the 14 week mark of their respective seasons and are now netting points by trying to replace the lowest weekly total of their best 14 with a higher one.

Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 667 points. Gauldin will be trying to net on a 43, which means if he can score a 50-point win, he would add seven points to his best 14 week total and bring it to 674.

Gauldin also has the fourth highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) among the Top 20 in the point standings at 47.64 out of a possible 50. Gauldin holds a ten point lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings over Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS. Lee has a best 14 week total of 657 points. Lee will be trying to net on a 41 and has the eighth highest WPA at 46.93.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL is third in the standings with a best 14 week total of 644 points and the 12-year-old driver will be trying to net on a 41. Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 620 points, and he still has one more week to earn full points before hitting the 14 week mark of his 2014 season.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is fifth in the standings with 610 points and has one more week to earn full points. Daspit has the ninth highest WPA among the Top 20 in the point standings at 46.92.

Chris Holley of Dayton, TX continues to rise in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with the highest WPA at 49.83. Holley is sixth in the standings with 598 points and still has two more weeks to earn full points. Holley will be looking to raise himself up a few more spots in Week 18 competition, as he will be looking for his 11[sup]th[/sup] win of the season.

In 12 races this season, Holley has turned in ten 50-point wins and two 49-point second-place finishes. Holley is four 50-point wins away from a 700 point “Perfect Season” and a WPA of 50. Daspit won the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Championship last season by becoming the first driver in the eight-year history of the series to turn in a perfect season.

Daspit recorded wins last season at three different NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned race tracks. This season, Holley has driven to all ten of his victories at one track, Battleground Speedway. In a note of interest, one of the two drivers that have defeated Holley at Battleground Speedway this season is Daspit. Doug Begnaud of Cypress, TX is the other.

Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 587 points. Sanchagrin will be trying to net on a 25 in Week 18 competition. Heath Minor of Ralph, AL is eighth in the standings with 578 points and has two more weeks to earn full points. Minor has the third highest WPA at 48.17.

Henry Pullen of Pittsboro, MS is ninth in the standings with 544 points and two more weeks to earn points. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 541 points and one more week to earn full points.

Seven drivers in the second ten of the point standings will bare watching in Week 18 competition, as they are on the move and headed for the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings based on their respective WPAs.

Adam Beeler of Knoxville, TN is 14[sup]th[/sup] in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 531 points, but he has the second highest WPA at 48.27 and still has three more weeks to earn full points. Ryan King of Seymour, TN is 16[sup]th[/sup] in the standings with 520 points and has the fifth highest WPA at 47.27 with three more weeks to earn full points.

Delbert Smith of Wichita, KS has now arrived in the Top 20 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings, landing in the 17[sup]th[/sup] spot with 518 points, the sixth highest WPA at 47.09, and three more weeks to earn full points. Also making his first Top 20 appearance of the season is Jamie Green of Crosby, TX, who is 18[sup]th[/sup] with 517 points and has the seventh highest WPA at 47 with three more weeks to earn full points.

Darrick Klima of Belleville, KS, Rusty Ballenger of Sevierville, TN, and Lee Burdett of Bessemer, AL are tied for the 19[sup]th[/sup] spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 514 points apiece and tied for the tenth spot on the WPA list at 46.73. All three drivers still have three more weeks to earn full points. Klima has the tie-breaker advantage with four 50-point wins to three 50-points wins for Ballenger, and Burdett is still looking for his first win of the season.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 28.
