CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 2 schedule of events will see 11 races in seven different states. There will be two races on Friday night and nine races on Saturday night. After opening week competition, there is a four-way tie for the National point lead.


Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will highlight Friday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 2 action with a $1,000-to-win race. Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR will also host a Friday night Week 2 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series race.


Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will present a $1,000-to-win Crate 45 Challenge Race on Saturday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models. Also in action on Saturday night are Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Penton Raceway in Penton, AL, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, Smokey Harris Speedway in Haleburg, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.


Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL, Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS, Henry Hanger of Winchester, TN, and Chris Holley of Highlands, TX share the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point lead. Each driver posted a 50-point win last Saturday night in the opening week of the season.


Jimmy Thomas of Phenix City, AL, Casey Haney of Meridian, MS, Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL and Eric Neal of Highlands, TX each had 49-point second-place finishes in Week 1 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition and share a four-way tie for the fifth spot in the points chase.


Dana Eiland of Salem, AL, Cliff Williams of Star, MS, Caleb Coan of Moulton, AL, and Buster Deen of Crosby, TX all had Week 1 48-point third-place finishes last week to end up in a four-way tie for the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings.


Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 28.


The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.


The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 100-pound weight break.
