CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 7 of the 2009 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season will have 14 events at 12 tracks on the weekend schedule with seven races each in the West and East Regions. One West Region track, Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, MS will switch from Saturday night to Friday night for this week only.

The tightest point battle is in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region where Tracy Brown of Lumberton, MS holds a one-point lead over Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS. Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL is the point leader in the East Region with a 24-point lead over Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL.

Action in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region begins on Friday night when Central Mississippi Speedway opens its gates one night earlier than normal. Central Mississippi Speedway has had two straight Saturday night rainouts, so they thought they would try their luck on Friday night for just this one week.

The NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region will also see Friday night action at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, and at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS. Four West Region races will be held on Saturday night at three different tracks.

Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will host Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region events, while Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS will present two feature races.

The first Whynot Motorsports Park NeSmith Chevrolet WRS feature will be a make-up feature from last week’s rainout with only those drivers that were entered last Saturday night eligible to compete. That event will be followed by their regular Saturday night program that will be open to all drivers.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region Week 7 action will begin on Friday night with races at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, GA. Five Saturday night events are scheduled for four tracks in the East Region.

Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will host a pair of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series races on Saturday night. The first will be a make-up race from last Saturday night’s rainout that is only for those drivers that entered last Saturday night’s event. The second race will be open to all drivers.

Also presenting Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet WRS East Region events will be Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN, Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC, and East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL.
