CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 8 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will see a dozen events on the schedule, as several tracks will try to overcome their battles with Mother Nature. Two tracks will run double-features trying to give their drivers an opportunity to catch up with their Regional points after several rainouts.
The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region will have seven races on the schedule at six tracks. Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS will open the competition on Friday night. Saturday night events will be held at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, MS, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, and Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS.
Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS will run double-features on Saturday night. The first Whynot Motorsports Park NeSmith Chevrolet WRS feature will be a make-up feature from the May 9 rainout with only those drivers that were entered on May 9 eligible to compete. That event will be followed by their regular Saturday night program that will be open to all drivers.
There will be one Sunday night event in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region, and that will be held at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.
Five events are on tap at four different tracks in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region. Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, GA will open the East Region competition on Friday night. Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN, and Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC are scheduled to be in action for West Region competition on Saturday night.
Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will try to get two feature races in on Saturday night after three straight weeks of rainouts. The first will be a make-up race from a May 2 rainout that is only for those drivers that entered the May 2 event. The second race will be open to all drivers.
