New Winners Headline Midway Racing Card-Hudson Masters USRA Mod Feature

Lebanon,Mo.-Close Racing and new winners in 2009 were the theme as action was fast and furious Friday night at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway as 3 new winners grabbed their first Midway victories this season.

The fast pace of the USRA Modifieds had Sam Petty grab the opening lead on lap 1.On lap 2 David Hendrix making his first start of the season at Midway charged to the top spot woth Justin Neuman following.With Hendrix setting a quick pace,point leader Eric Hudson charged from row three to grab the runner-up spot.On lap 6,Hudson made a low groove move to secure the top spot as Hendrix fell to the second place spot as Neuman and Jamie Ragland were battling for position.Hudson had opened a half a track lead when the only caution flew on lap 17.On the restart Hendrix moved to the top groove,but Hudson kept the low groove solid while the hot race was for second as Hendrix and Ragland were battling while Neuman and Rex Merritt battled for position.As the checkered flew,Hudson grabbed his first win of the season with Hendrix,Ragland,neuman and Merritt completing the top5.
A solid stron field of B-Mods came out as Mickey Burrell grabbed the lead from his outside front row starting spot as Jeff Albright Jr followed closely.Burrell,Albright,Jack Lancaster and others were battling for spots.On lap 4,Albright pulled even with the leader Burrell as the duo raced side by side with Albright taking the lead.Josh Woody had moved from the 8th starting spot and Jason Otto who started 11th were climbing up through the field and moved into the top 5.Albright stayed low with Burrell on the high-side as Woody moved in to challange along with Otto.The caution flew on lap 12 for debris setting up a great finish as Burrell jumped to the top side while leader Albright kept down low with Woody moving into the middle groove.Albright would grab his first Midway win of the season with Burrell,Woody,Otto, and Tyler Brown completing the top 5 in an action packed feature.

The Bombers again provided another great feature and last lap dramatics.Nick Whitehead grabbed the opening lead with Rodney Yost following closely.On lap 3,action followed as Nathan Gold moved in to second and challanged for the top spot as point leader Joe Francis and last weeks Shawn Strong got together inturn 2 sending both to the rear.On lap 4 leader Whitehead spun in turn 2 collecting Brandon Waters ending both their nights.Gold would lead the field down on lap 5 with yost a close second while Francis and Strong came charging from the rear.Caution waved on lap 6 for Kolt Barker's spin closing the field up.With Gold looking for his first ever Midway win,Francis made his march forward by using the top groove as the duo ran even as Francis was faster in turn 3 while Gold would go back to the front in turn 1.This battle lastest until lap 11 when Gold had a right front go down ending his night and setting up a last lap shootout between Francis and Shawn Strong.This battle last till the end as Francis and Strong swapped the top spot for 2 laps with Strong taking the lead on the last lap grabbing his second straight win of the season with point leader Francis,Rodney Yost,Kolt Barker and Shawn Winfrey completing the top 5.

The Popular PureStocks had a new winner this week as Conway's Danny Caffey grabbed the lead from opening lap leader Brandon Carnahan to take his first ever Midway checkered flag with Robert Doublin securing the runner-up spot with a 5 car battle for third place between Les Hayes,Adam Lowrance,Jason Brumley,Frank Bryson and Carnahan as they finished in that order.

The LateModel Sportsman saw attrition take its toll on some of the field as former champion Donnie Gennings grabbed the opening lead as front runners JC Newell and Micheal Jones headed to the pits early with problems.Gennings would lead until lap 3 when Bill Joiner grabbed the lead.Joiner would lead until lap 6 when point leader Ben Newell charged to the outside lane and never looked back in taking his fourth victory of the season while a tight battle for second saw Gennings grab that position followed by Bradley McDowell,Sundance Keepper and Tim Riffle completing the top 5.

The Pitcrew competition was captured by Josh Woody as they demolished the overall time as David Hendrix and Justin Neuman served as the crew capturing $100 from EZ Port-Potties.The overall time is a new record as they completed 1 lap changed a right rear tire and went to the finish in 46 seconds.

Next Friday night the Midway will host a different type of racing program as the FactoryStocks compete for a $500 to win points show along with a 305/360 Non-Wing Sprint event paying $500 to win.Points competition in the B-Mods and Bombers along with a Car Enduro and Hillbilly Farm Truck Enduro.Regular admission prices with the gates opening at 5 and Racing at 8PM Sharp.
