Looks as if Montgomery County will drop their Summer Nationals date for July 11th. They wanted the date after I-55. Looks like the July 11th date may go to Clay County if they want it. But that is not a definite by any means.

Tri-City's Steel Block class looks like it may be a new UMP sanctioned class known as the Iron Man division. Although Bob Sargent wasn't definite on this, Bob Wente said that Craig Cowen at UMP had given it the okay. Mt. Vernon's Steel Block class would also fall into this new UMP division if this is true.

Mike Hammerle is definitely heading down to Florida to compete in the UMP races at Volusia.

Frankie Martin has a new Rocket chassis ordered and will continue to run at Belle-Clair and Highland.

Tim Barrett had a rough week at East Bay, he broke two motors while down there.

The MARA midget races at Belle-Clair could be interesting... We could see late model stars Rick Eckert and Bart Hartman competing in a couple of those events. Looks like Donnie Lehman may be competing in a couple of late model events in the Rocket House Car (Hartman's ride) and a few events in Eckert's car as well.

"Iron Man Division" - I like that name, it could catch on. TCS may possibly be sactioned by UMP, my how things are a changing! IF that(TCS=UMP) really happens, then how about giving them the SN date on the 11th, providing that MCS does actually drop it, that way it still stays local. Just a thought and only a thought.

That's a shame about Montgomery County dropping that date, but I can sure understand why he did. UMP is going to be missing out on a great facility hosting one of their events.

WHAT UMP AT TCS TELL ME IT'S NOT SO I BETCHA OLE DOUGIE WAS CHOKING ON HIS JAGGERMEISTER AFTER THAT ON ,AND I.M SURE DIRTSLINGER IS MAD AS HECK WHEN HE HEARD THAT WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH HE LOVES UMP:D :D :D

The steel block deal is strange to me, there is very little price comparison between a race ready late model with a steele block and an aluminum one. Also there are alot of fast latemodels with steel blocks. There is no differnce in the cost of racing once the car is done between steel and aluminum blocks.

If they want to help the racer, they should make better tire rules. They are forcing people out of latemodel racing with there expensive tire rule, and starting a new "less expesive class" with the same bad tire rule is just not making any since to me.

I really hope Mel reconsiders July 11th. I thought it was great last year at MCS.

I wish ????????

I just wish that they would have pevely and montgomery county back to back, it is a little easier on the racers with all the traveling they do.. and the fans can get in 2 nights of racing that is not to far apart...... UMP has strange ways of doing things..........

the 4th was MCS's date right after I55 UMP took it and gave it to a track their officals promote funny how that all works?

I prolly heard a lot of facts there but was too drunk to remember them. I do know Bob Sargeant told me I would have to take my spoiler off at Macon and Farmer City. Mitch Landrum hasn't touched his car yet. Chris Boyd thinks I wrecked his car at Brownstown. Kenny Harris is going back to Farmington. Paul Bauman is running Belleville and Pevely again. Ray Walsh is racing Belleville a lot more this year. Bald Joe Bilyk signed a 10 race contract to be my crew cheif some next year. Mike Hammerle supposedly has a pool in the new basement of his shop (did I dream that up?). Donnie Wren is a Team Impressive Chassis driver now. Shawn Rayfield is going to Windy Hollow in early March. Rusty Griffaw is quitting racing and going on American Idol with me. Thats about all I can think of.

Oh my gosh!

Take a breath, Jimmy, and take a rest. Geez!

So Jimmy, if your idol, Ray Walsh, is racing Belleville, are you going to be there on those nights?
