(DuQuoin, IL) Nick Lyons of Centralia, IL said at the end of the 2006 season that he planned to contend for the 2007 C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series Championship and if his early season success is any indication of what is to come, he will be a force to be recond with for the title.

In only seven starts this season, Lyons has accumulated three feature wins as well as three second place finishes. Lyons says he contributes alot of this seasons success to his new chassis built by FORWARD Racing . "Race (McMahon) built us a good piece for this year and it has helped our program alot" said Lyons after winning his third feature of the year."When we got our first feature win this year down at Paducah, I knew we had something good going and we plan to make it even better!"

Lyons leads the C.A.R.S. WRS Points by a 17 point margin over second place title contender Jeff Walston of Paducah, KY. Walston, who went on a winning streak last year like never seen before in any division has once again put himself in contention for the championship. Third place in C.A.R.S WRS Points is held by Josh Harris of Utica, Ky, with fourth place being held by Jason McBride of Carbondale, IL. Currently fifth in points is defending C.A.R.S. WRS Champion Danny Jolly of Christopher, IL. Louie Baker, Jr, Steve Hobbs, Brent Burnett, Phil Gregory and Mike King round out the top ten in current C.A.R.S. WRS Points.
