nine inch rearend

I'm not sure what the popular size housing is or what would be easiest to put in a Camaro. That being said, two stock axle splines are 28 & 31, older housings use a sealed wheel bearing and the newer type used a open taper bearing. All the center chunks will interchange but the differential spline will have to match the axles used 28 or 31. I'm not sure if the big car wheel lug pattern is the same as the truck, but the intermediate size car lug pattern is 4 1/2. One last thing, 8 inch axles (all are 28 spline) will fit in "some" of the 9 inch housings. hopefully this did not confuse you more.

thanx snurf any info i can get is more than i had.If anyone has anything more to add please feel free to help me out.

most popular ford nine inch are out of lincolns versatiles and Granada's some even use the torino rear ends the are short like 56 inches wide works well under metric and camaros they will be 5 x 4 1/2 wheel pattern but easy to drill to the camaro 4 3/4 pattern nine inch for are easy to get gears for you can use the "center chunk" out of every thing from a pickup to a granada just make sure your splines are the same 28 vs 31 they make some good rear disc for these cars to

the 9 inch from a truck is a few inches wider and has a bolt pattern of 5 x 5 1/2. Also, the four bolts that hold the axel in are spaced apart a little wider than on the car. The center section is the same. Use one from a car if possible.

I have one

Out of a 1/2 ton. Smurf can give you any info on it you need. Cause its at his house..Get measurements on your backing plate to backing plate. The leaf spring perches will have to be moved so you dont need to measure them. $ 100. Its all there, and in good shape..
