Novice Training this Saturday at I-70 QMA!

I-70 QMA

Quarter Midget Racing
I-70 QMA will conduct it's first novice training session of the season this Saturday, February 26th. Classroom training starts at 1:30 with on track training beginning at 3:00. YOU MUST be a QMA member to participate. If your not bring a copy of the driver's birth certificate, applications will be available.

Quarter Midgets of America is a non-profit organization with over 2,500 family memberships and approximately 4,000 drivers. There are 13 Regions in our organization and 50 Quarter Midget Clubs nationwide. QMA is a very safe and family oriented sport. The cars, rules and safety procedures are designed specifically for kids. Boys and girls ages 5 thru 16 can race. They race on oval tracks approximately 1/20 of a mile, on either pavement or dirt. The racing environment is about children and family. Not only do kids learn valuable skills and sportsmanship, but they also make new friends. I-70 Speedway is located in Greenville, IL. in the Bond County Fairgrounds. The 2005 season kicks off with our March Madness Series. For more information and maps, check out our website at http://www.i-70qma.com or e-mail us at qmracing@i-70qma.com

Fireball,

QMA family memberships are $125 annually, which includes the driver and parents. You don't have to be a QMA member to enter the pit area, but you must be one to enter the hot chute or drive on the track. Alternate handlers, (someone other than the parent or guardian), pay $75.

Just to avoid confusion this is NOT our test drive program. This is novice training for families who have purchased a car and safety equipment, and have either joined QMA or plan to. We hope to have a test drive session later in the year.
Hope that helps......anymore questions just let us know.

dont have a car, dont even know if my kid would want to do this deal, dont feel like throwing a buck and a quarter at something that she might not want to do,,you should have the test drive session early in the year so if a kid is interested then the parents can make plans to set a team up,,,just my thoughts,,

Fireball,

The club has considered an early season test drive. Since we are the only pavement track in the region, we open a month or so before everyone else does. We have an annual March Madness Race Series that draws racers from the whole region. Club members run the tournament as well as race in it, so it is a very busy time for us. We try to have our test drive toward the end of the season, when the racing schedule isn't as hectic. That way interested familes have a few months to purchase a car, and get ready for the upcoming season. You do make a good point though and although it has been discussed before, I will bring your suggestion to our next meeting.
