Number of cars in the feature

Is there a specific number of cars to be included in the field for feature races? When I've thought to count it seems like there was nearly always 20 cars.

Yet, Saturday night I think I counted 19 sportsmen starting (maybe a last minute scratch), 22 modifieds and 20 sprints. Didn't think to count the multis.

I ask because it seems to me that the track is just too crowded with more than 20 cars, with the possible exception of multis since they are smaller. Sure enough there were several restarts until the field got down to a manageable size.

So, anyway, do the rules address this? Thanks in advance

Number of cars

I might be wrong on this,but 20 is usually the number of cars to start.I know several times when my son raced a modified,if there were 21 or 22 they would go ahead and let them be in the feature. Maybe someone else can clarify it better.

i think thats right...and i believe the reason there were 19 in the sportsman feature is because the 5s car didnt start...so it was intended to be 20.
