O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Open Wheel Modified Division Ready to Rock for 2008

Louisville, KY-March 7, 2008- The Open Wheel Modified division of the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series is set to roar for 2008 as the “baddest racers in America without front fenders” are set to participate in a 14 event schedule at 7 different venues in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.

The series will begin its 2008 season with its 50th series event in history with one event in the month of April at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN on Saturday April 12 and that event will pay $2,000 to win in what will be the first of three visits by the Modified division to this East Tennessee facility in 2008.

The month of May gets underway with a stop at Clinton County Speedway in Albany, KY on Saturday May 10, with $1,500 going to the race winner in the series first time back at Clinton County since 2004. Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY will host the Open Wheel warriors on Saturday May 17 in the 8th Annual Mod Squad Bash, paying $1,500 to the winner. A double-dip of action in Central Kentucky rounds out May with the Friday May 23 4th Annual Summer Shootout at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY, followed by a Saturday May 24 event at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY. Both events will pay $1,500 to win.

Three events dot the calendar in the month of June, with the second of three series visits to Tazewell Speedway on Saturday evening June 7, with $2,000 the payday up for grabs in this event. The series will visit the Buckeye State of Ohio for the very first time on Friday June 13 with a $1,500 to win stop at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio. The weekend of action will conclude on Saturday June 14 with a $1,500 to win stop at 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY.

A pair of Modified division events are on the calendar for July with the Modified portion of the 21st Annual Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial at Richmond Raceway taking place on Friday evening July 18, paying $1,500 to win. Bluegrass Speedway will host the tour for the second and final time in 2008 on Saturday July 26, paying another $1,500 to win for the 8th Annual Bluegrass Rumble.

A trio of events are on the schedule for August, with Clinton County Speedway on the docket for Saturday August 2, paying $1,500 to win. The series goes to 201 Speedway on Saturday August 9, paying $1,500 to the winner. Ponderosa Speedway will end up the month of action for the Modified tour with the 4th Annual Railroad Days Showdown, another $1,500 to win on Friday evening August 22.

The final event of the 2008 campaign for the Modified division of the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series will take place at Tazewell Speedway on Saturday evening September 13. The winner of the series season finale in East Tennessee will take home $5,000 for their efforts.
