O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Series Opener at Twin Cities Raceway Park Cancelled

Louisville, Kentucky-April 11, 2008- The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Graphic Impressions was set to begin its seventh season of Super Late Model competition with the tour’s 2008 opening event on Saturday evening, April 12, at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, IN, but heavy rains on Thursday evening and Friday, along with a forecast of unseasonably cool temperatures for Saturday evening, have forced Twin Cities Raceway Park officials to cancel this event.

At this time, no make-up date has been announced and Twin Cities Raceway Park promoters Mason and Tawnya Fleetwood and officials with the Super Late Model division of the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series apologize for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of this event.

Attention will now shift to next weekend, with a doubleheader of racing action in the southcentral Indiana region, with racing on Friday April 18 at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, IN, followed by the 25th Annual Hoosier Dirt Classic at the Tim Keithley promoted Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN on Saturday April 19. Both events are $3,000 to win O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division points paying events. Both evenings will consist of a full schedule of practice, Racing Optics time trials, Graphic Impressions, K&N Performance Engineering, Real Wheels, and Wayne Bowen Racing Supply qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $3,000 to win A-Main for the Super Late Model division of the Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series.

Victor Lee of Stanford, KY is the defending champion for the Super Late Model division of the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. The remainder of the top five in final series points from 2007 were Jason Keltner of Campbellsville, KY, Tyrel Todd of Science Hill, KY, Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY, and David Webb of Nicholasville, KY.

The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series sanctions regional Super Late Model events at tracks in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee.
