On the Road to Amarillo This Saturday for NCRA Modifieds!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – August 18, 2014 - Race number ten on the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified tour schedule will see the division take to the road as the touring regulars and others will head to Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas this coming Saturday night.
Last year it was local Alan Sharpensteen taking the victory in front of the hometown crowd with the touring regulars putting on a strong performance at the beautiful West Texas facility.
Defending tour champion Marc Hurd leads the current point standings by a slim 20 point lead over fellow Wichita, Kansas resident Dan Powers and Nebraska veteran Jon Thompson. Kirby Robe has produced strong performances and sits just 70 points out of the lead and fourth in the point standings while Jason McGehee rounds out the top five.
Other drivers throughout the top ten that are expected to make the trip include: Josh Lanterman, leading rookie contender Chris Pitts, Don Hodge, Justin Moler and rookie contender Cuyler Calkin. Also expected to make the trip are Dustin Belcher, Robbie Simmons, A.J. Brochu and Joe Adams.
A strong contingent of track regulars will look to take home the $1000 first place prize. They include former NCRA modified south champion Gene Weaver, Logan Cabbell, Dee and Jeremy Gossett, Conner Pullen, Sharpensteen and Braden Woods. Close to forty drivers from the states of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico are expected to compete. USRA rules will be allowed for this event however there is no mixing and matching of rules.
Gates will open at 5:00 pm with a 7:00 pm race start time. The Speedway is located 1 1/2 miles south of Interstate 40 on Lakeside in Amarillo. For more race and ticket information, contact the speedway (806) 383-0375.
