LEBANON - The O'Reilly Auto Parts-Hoosier Tire Winged Outlaw Warriors will invade the Lebanon I-44 Speedway for a fast night of racing Saturday evening.
The Sprint cars feature the 360 cubic-inch engines and pack a lot of power and speed. Track promoter Randy Mooneyham said racing fans will enjoy the WOW show.
"I think the crowd is going to be surprised at how fast they are," Mooneyham said.
He said fans at I-44 Speedway are used to seeing the Late Model cars race a lap in 15 to 16 seconds in normal time. Mooneyham expects several seconds will be shaved off those fast times with the Winged Sprint cars.
"We should see 11.5 to 12 second laps from these cars," Mooneyham said.
Twenty to 30 Sprint cars are anticipated to be at the speedway. Payout for the Winged Outlaw Warriors is $1,200 for first, $200 to start the A Feature.
Notable WOW series drivers to be present include Randy Martin, Tracy Nichols, Mike Trent, Rex Combs and Terry Hinck. As of May 29, Martin was the series points leader with 384 points, followed by Hinck with 344 points.
The WOW series will also be at Bolivar Speedway on Friday night and Monett Speedway on Sunday night.
Late Models, Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Bombers will also be racing for points. Super Stocks will not be racing Saturday evening.
