O'REILLY M.A.R.S. SET FOR FIREWORKS IN OKLAHOMA & MISSOURI

Batesville, Arkansas (June 29, 2004) – After splitting last weekend’s double header with Mother Nature, the stars and cars of the O’Reilly Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) will celebrate America’s birthday in style as they roar back into action with events in Oklahoma and Missouri

Leading the super late model competitors into battle for the weekend will be Batesville, Arkansas’ own Wendell Wallace. Wallace picked up a win last weekend at Thunder Valley Speedway and currently resides atop the series’ standings. Terry Phillips from Springfield, Missouri currently sits 34 markers out of first place in the series’ points. Jeff Taylor, Jeff Floyd, and Bill Frye round out the top five in the M.A.R.S. standings as the 2004 tour approaches its midpoint.

Other drivers expected to be in action this weekend include Dewaine Hottinger, Peyton Taylor, Jerry Buck, Steve Rushin, Dustin Mooneyham, Joey Mack, Brandon McCormick, Jon Mitchell, Leslie Essary, Gary Stolba, and many more super late model stars of the Midwest.

Night #1 of the double header will find the Midwest’s Best Super Late Model competitors at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma for a $3,000 to win, 40 lap feature event on Saturday, July 3rd at the 3/8 mile, clay oval. Adult, grandstand admission is $15, kids 6-12 are $5, and 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $30 for ages 13 and up, $15 for 4-12, and 3 and under are free. Gates open at 5:00 with racing at 7:00. Night #2 of the double header will see the Martians making their first of two appearances of the 2004 season at Lake Ozark Speedway, which is a 3/8 mile clay oval in Eldon, Missouri. Lake Ozark Speedway is located off of Highway 54 at the Highway 52 exit. The track is on the end of the frontage road on the south side of Highway 54. Gates open at 5:00 with racing at 7:00.
