BATESVILLE AR. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Mid-America Racing Series will head down the home stretch for 2003. There are only eight points events remaining for the O'Reilly M.A.R.S. series, and there are tight points battles all the way through the standings.

First up this weekend will be the years final trip to the Bolivar Speedway. This will be the biggest event of the year at Boliver, the Missouri Dirt Track Championship. Next up will be a return trip to the Lebanon I-44 Speedway. Not originally scheduled, this event was moved from the still unfinished Poplar Bluff Speedway to I-44. It will be the final time for the O'Reilly M.A.R.S. regulars before the 1st Annual Bill Willard Memorial in September.

Terry Phillips of Springfield, Missouri is back atop the points standings, but only by 14 markers. Phillips and Bill Frye of Greenbriar, Arkansas have waged a see-saw battle for control of the O'Reilly M.A.R.S. points lead over the past month. Phillips picked up two more feature wins the last time the series was out, but could only ease just a few points ahead of Frye who is still poised to take a third series championship.

Jeff Taylor of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas currently rides in third in the points standings, by himself at this point. Taylor is more than 120 points behind Bill Frye, but has close to 100 points lead over Leslie Essary of Crane, Missouri. Taylor helped himself the last time the series ran with a pair of top fives, and a top ten. Leslie Essary moved past Jeff Floyd in the points after Floyd's unfortunate injuries at the Tulsa Speedway. Essary did post a top five at Monett.

Jeff Floyd of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas is still fifth in series points, but could still be out for this weekend due to his injuries.

Mike Brown of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma has steadily risen in the points all year, and is in sixth currently. Brown had a pair of top tens the last time the M.A.R.S. series was in action. Jerry Buck of Harviell, Missouri is seventh in points and struggled his last weekend out, but is looking to do well this weekend.

Charlie Randolph II of Muskogee, Oklahoma has advanced to eighth in series points, and still leads the Kuntz & Company Rookie of the Year competiton. Randolph scored a pair of top tens and looks to continue his climb.

Dewaine Hottinger of Russellville, Arkansas is nineth in series points. Hottinger scored a top ten at the Monett Speedway the last time the series raced. Steve Rushin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri rounds out the top ten, and had an excellent weekend the last time out. Rushin picked up a top five and a pair more top tens.

Joey Mack of Benton, Missouri has moved into 11th in series points. Mack struggled early, but has seen his stock rise quite a bit over the past couple of months. Mack's third place run at the Tulsa Speedway was his best finish of the year so far.

Jack Sullivan of Greenbriar, Arkansas, Gary Stolba of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Shane Essary of Aurora, Missouri round out the top fifteen in the points standings. Sullivan and Essary are second and third in Kuntz & Company rookie points.
Gates are scheduled to open at 5:30 at the Bolivar Speedway, with hotlaps set for 7:00 and racing at 8:00. The track is located 3 miles south of Bolivar on State Road 13 to County Road "U", then west to frontage road. Go .3 miles south, then .5 miles west.

Gates are scheduled to open at 5:00pm at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway, with hotlaps set for 6:45 and racing at 7:30. The track is located 6 miles northeast of Lebanon on I-44 to exit 135 (Sleeper exit). Go north to outer drive, then west 1.1 miles on historic Route 66 (frontage road).

Tickets are priced the same at both tracks, with Adult tickets priced at $15.00 and Junior tickets are $5.00. Both tracks have backstretch tier parking, where fans can enjoy the races from the comfort of their own cars. Those prices are $20.00 for adults, and $5.00 for juniors. Pit passes will be $30.00 each night.
