With a nearly one month layoff the O'Reilly MLRA is set to leap back into action on Saturday, May 6, at Glenn & Colleen Portzen's Adrian Speedway.

The high horsepower ballet of the O'Reilly MLRA will take to the high banked
1/3 mile Adrian Speedway in a 40 lap battle for the $2500 winner's loot.
The O'Reilly MLRA last visited Adrian Speedway in 2004 after both 2005 events fell victim to mother nature. Adrian, MO's own David Turner took home the win in 2004 and looks to repeat at his hometown track, but a whole host of driver's will be looking to add the win to their racing resume.
Defending and four-time series champion Al Purkey will be looking to extend his early season points lead while the other four-time champion Alan Vaughn comes into the event in the second position attempting to track down Purkey in the standings. Not to be outdone Lancaster, MO native Chris Smyser finds himself within striking distance of the front two with Ft. Gibson, OK wheelman Mike Brown nipping close at his heels. Series regulars Charlie Randolph, Brett LaFollette, and Jason Bodenhamer can't be counted out for the win along with a tough contingent of local drivers looking to one up the traveling talent.

In addition to the O'Reilly MLRA Adrian Speedway will also feature the street stock and hobby stock divisions on Saturday evening. Pit gates open at 4:00 pm with grandstand gates opening at 5:00 pm. Hot laps are set to take to the track at 7:00 pm with racing action getting underway at 7:30 pm.
General admission tickets are only $15.00 for adults, with kids 6-12 only $5.00 while 5 & under are Free. Pit passes for the night are $25.00.

Officials with the O'Reilly MLRA also announced a slight change to the 2006 Thunder Tour schedule during June. The Valley Speedway event on June 3 has been postponed with a reschedule date to be announced later. "The gentleman that rented the facility from Mark and Debbie Evinger had his sponsorship commitments fall through," commented O'Reilly MLRA promoter Harriett Chancellor. "The gentleman still would like to schedule this event, but that is contingent upon the securing of sponsorship. This is no way affects the August 11 visit by the O'Reilly MLRA to Valley Speedway."

Adrian Speedway is located 2.5 miles north of SR18 on US 71 then .5 miles west of CR AA. For more information contact them at 816-297-4400 or visit them at www.adrianspdwy.com.
