LEXINGTON, KY -- The nation's most competitive regional racing series, the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts, has announced its schedule for the 2006 racing season. In addition, the points fund will increase for the upcoming season with the Series Champion taking home a whopping $12,000.
Coming off the heels of a season that produced 18 different winners in 20 races, the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series is ready to roll into the upcoming racing season with an aggressive schedule that currently boasts 24 events. The 2006 campaign for the BoB Late Models will kickoff with back-to-back events at Larry Yantz’s Ponderosa Speedway on April 7th and 8th with those events paying $3,000 and $5,000 to win respectively. The following weekend, the series hits the King Family's Florence Speedway for the Spring 50 tune-up on April 14th and the Spring 50 on April 15th. The 23rd Annual Hoosier Dirt Classic at Brownstown Speedway will fly under the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series banner on April 22nd. The series rounds out the month of April with a double-heading weekend at Richmond Raceway on the 28th and Bluegrass Speedway's 9th Annual Spring Sizzler on April 29th.
May 6th will be the first of three visits to the Sitka, KY 3/8-mile facility known as 201 Speedway for a $3,000 to win show.
The inaugural Kentucky Late Model Speedweek will find the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series hitting four races in five days beginning with the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series making its inaugural visit on Memorial Day to Sherri Heckenast’s Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway on May 29th. The series then moves east for night two for a Tuesday night special at Bluegrass Speedway on the 30th. Following a night off, the thunder rolls Thursday night, June 1st, to the Richmond Raceway. The speedweek finishes with a Friday night show at Ponderosa Speedway on June 2nd. The O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Kentucky Late Model Speedweek will feature a separate points fund for those four events. Each event will be a standard O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series $3,000 to win purse.
Following the Kentucky Late Model Speedweek, the series will take a much needed rest before making their third appearance of the season at David & Anita Ferrell's Bluegrass Speedway for the 5th Annual June Jam. June 24th, the BoB tour revisits the Hoosier State for Brownstown Speedway's 8th Annual Lee Fleetwood Memorial.
July finds the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts at 201 Speedway on the 1st, Bluegrass Speedway on the 8th for the $5,000 to win Kentuckiana Klash, and Richmond Raceway on the 15th for the Butterball Wooldridge Memorial. July closes out with Border Wars 2006 as the series hits Oneida, TN's Scenic Raceway for back-to-back shows on the 21st and 22nd paying $3,000 and $5,000 to win respectively. Three consecutive Saturday night events with the winner taking home $5,000 will make July in 2006 ultra-competitive.

In addition, Springfield, MO based O'Reilly Auto Parts has once again agreed to return as the title sponsor of the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. Also, citing the competitiveness of the series in 2005, it was recently announced that the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series will keep the same tire rule as it had in 2005.
