LEXINGTON, KY -- This Saturday, August 6th, the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts visits the Soggy Bottom Speedway located just outside of Morgantown, KY. In 2005, 13 different drivers 14 events have graced victory lane in the nation's top regional dirt Late Model series.
It will be the sixth ever appearance for Kentucky's premier Dirt Late Model sanctioning body at the Mack & Lesa Gabbard promoted facility which opened in 1989. In five previous O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series visits, Johnny Wheeler has two wins with Aaron Hatton, Victor Lee, and Dennis Erb each claiming one victory. For the second time this season, the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series will co-headline the program.
There will be a complete race program for the BoB drivers with Racing Optics Time Trials, VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races, B-Mains and the O'Reilly Auto Parts A-Main. The Late Model feature will pay $3000 to win and the Open Wheel Modified feature will pay $1500 to win.
After 14 O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series events thus far in 2005, 13 different drivers have made their way to winner's circle. Dunnville, KY native Whitney McQueary leads the current series point standings by a mere 95 points over Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY. Scottsburg, IN's Mike Jewell is currently third with Mt. Sterling, KY's Aaron Hatton and Glasgow, KY's Michael England rounding out the top five.
