NEW FLORENCE, Mo. -- (Oct. 17, 2003) The Racing Association of Mini Stocks (RAMS) will be a regular part of the racing program at the Montgomery County Speedway in 2004 and there will be an informational meeting on the new class to be held at Maggie's Cafe in New Florence at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9th.

"We brought our mini stock class to Montgomery County a couple of times during the 2003 season and we were very warmly greeted by the fans and the racers," RAMS President Jeff Mills said. "Not only will this allow the people in the Montgomery County Speedway area to get involved with a new form of racing in that area they will also find out that it is one of the most affordable classes anywhere. It will also allow those new racers to take part in the RAMS Points Series for 2004 if they desire."
The RAMS Mini Stocks feature four-cylinder, rear-wheel drive cars and light trucks.

"We are not a Hornet or a Wannabee class," Mills said. "Our cars and trucks are allowed to build their engines up a bit and modify their chassis and use racing tires. The result is a quality form of racing that not only is exciting for the racers and the fans it's also great for families to get involved with."
Rules and regulations for the new mini stock class will be provided at the meeting and current RAMS members will be on hand to answer questions about the class and their vehicles. At first the RAMS Mini Stocks will race once a month at MCS. The class also runs a weekly program at the Fredericktown Raceway on Friday nights and the RAMS Points Series allows racers to take part in special shows at the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, the St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, and Auto Tire & Parts Racepark in Benton. The class also has plans on appearing at the Belle Clair Speedway in Belleville, Ill for the 2004 season and possibly a few other regional tracks. There is no obligation to any new RAMS Mini Stock racer to have to participate in all the races.
