Lincoln, Ill. (June 7) – Lincoln Speedway will offer a first place prize of $1,000 for the Outlaw Wingless Sprint Car driver that ends the 30-lap feature in victory lane. Middletown, Ill. rookie Bret Tripplett currently holds a seven-point advantage over Springfield youngster Korey Weyent in the standings. Tripplett won the opening feature event of the season on the ¼-mile Logan County Fairgrounds oval, while Weyent and Brazil, Indiana’s Doug Heck have found the winner’s circle in the other two events. Also on the card will be UMP Modifieds, Street Stocks, 600cc Outlaw Mini Sprints and Wild Things.

In one week, Late Models will return as the headliner. UMP Modifieds have been added to the June 19th event. Accompanying those classes will be 600cc Outlaw Mini Sprints, Street Stocks and Wild Things. The “TBA” on the schedule for the June 26th event will be filled out by the Wild Thing class.

Both injured drivers from this past weekend’s event have been released from the hospital. Scott Malone, who was t-boned during the Street Stock Consolation Race, is sore but has no broken bones. Wild Thing competitor Gary Osborne is also doing well after flipping his automobile multiple times during his Heat Race.
