Columbus, MS (1/17/10) – The newly formed Promoters Racing Organization (P.R.O.) Super Late Model tour is proud to announce it’s tentative 2010 schedule as well as the launch of its brand new website at www.PRODirtCarSeries.com .

Keep On Keeping On.........Definitely a simple enough statement to most people, but for the Promoters Racing Organization (P.R.O.) Super Late Model tour it best describes the goal of its forefathers. It's no secret that over the past decade that Super Late Model racing has faced many hardships not only in the Southeast, but across the entire country. Track owners claim that they can't afford to run Super Late Models and Super Late Model drivers complain that they can't afford to run for the purses offered by the track owners. As a result, some of the top tracks in the country have gone without one of the most popular divisions, while several others that have continued to run the division are close to giving up the fight.

In the Mississippi and Alabama area, a group of four individuals, Mike Mauldin, Johnny Stokes, Rodney Wing, and Mike Vaughn have decided to do something to preserve Super Late Models in the area. Thus was born the P.R.O. Super Late Model tour, which offers Super Late Model purses that tracks can afford and that racer's can afford to fund their programs on as well. The goal of the series is to have 10-14 races in its inaugural season to allow drivers race at tracks within a reasonable proximity of their home bases. In addition, the tour simultaneously allows tracks, who haven't been able to afford to run Super Late Models to bring the division in a couple of times a year, while also allowing tracks that still run Super Late Models to be able to continue to do so.

In its first season the tour will visit North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL), Corinth Speedway (Corinth, MS), Columbus Speedway (Columbus, MS), Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS), Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, MS), Central Mississippi Speedway (Winona, MS), Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, MS), and Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, MS) .

The 2010 season will be the inaugural campaign for the fledgling series, but the promoters hope that it is something that will thrive and continue to grow for seasons to come!

The tour will come to life with its inaugural events on March 19th-20th at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. On Friday, March 19th, a $2,000 to win/$150 to start event will be held, while Saturday, March 20th will see a $2,500 to win/$200 to start event. If a driver can win both events, then he will claim a $500 bonus, making the opening weekend a total, possible, winner’s purse of $5,000.

More dates are to be added to the schedule in the coming weeks, but the current tentative schedule is shown below:

March 19th: North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL)
March 20th: North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL)
April 3rd: Central Mississippi Speedway (Winona, MS)

As a result, some lucky driver in the P.R.O. tour could claim $15,000 in point’s money for ten events worth of work!

Also, competitors will like to note that starting with the second event of the season for the P.R.O. tour there will be a “Winner’s Circle” payout each night, which provides the top ten drivers in points entering the event with tow money.
