Paducah, KY- March 10, 2010- Paducah International Raceway is on Turn Four and approaching the checkered flag to the end of the off season. Open practice sessions will be held on Saturday, March 20th from 12-4 PM and on Thursday, March 25th at 5 PM. Pits for both practice sessions will be $15. Grandstand Admission will be free.
The season opener double header, Rumble By the River, will be on Friday, March 26th and Saturday, March 27th. Hot laps will begin at 6:30 and the green flag drops at 7:00. Pits will be $25 on Friday and $30 on Saturday. Grandstand Admission for both nights will be $15 per night. Be sure to see NASCAR Nationwide Series star Kenny Wallace racing the Federated Auto Parts Modified. Friday’s races include a full race program plus Kentucky Vintage. Saturday’s event features Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Steet Stock, and 4-Cylinder Warriors all sanctioned by UMP.
In addition to the Rumble By the River, the Bluegrass Bash will be Sunday March 28th at Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, Kentucky making it possible for a UMP Modified driver to pick up over $6000 in three days. A bonus of $500 has been put up by the tracks for any Modified driver than can win all three events.
Upcoming events at PIR include the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars which will be roaring into PIR on Friday, April 16th. See the “King of Outlaws” Steve Kinser, Joey Saldana, Jason Sides, Four-time Champion Donny Schatz, and 2009 race winner Jason Meyers. Night of NASCAR Stars 1 on Thursday, April 22nd marks the return of track co-owner and NASCAR two-time Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart. See Smoke and his Super Late Model mix it up with the local favorites including Kevin Cole, Jason McBride, Terry English, Dylan Thompson, and Randy Sellars.
